uDraw coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 photo

THQ's uDraw tablet for Wii was a surprise success. They've shipped 1.7 million units since its November launch for the Wii, and now they're testing the waters on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

As you can see from the above images, the PS3 and Xbox 360 uDraw has been made over. New features come with its new looks: high-definition compatibility, an improved stylus with greater sensitivity, a better battery for longer play, motion features, and direct touch compatibility to let you do the Apple things, like pinch and twist.

With the new hardware comes new software. This one is called uDraw Studio: Instant Artist, and it will come bundled with the new tablet. THQ says that there is also a "number of new uDraw titles planned for the next six months" for both this new unit as well as the Wii one. Expect Pictionary: Ultimate Edition by the end of the year.

The new uDraw tablet wil be on display at E3 next week. The launch for this new unit is set for November.

Now I know where Nintendo got the idea for the new controller. How many inches is this uDraw tablet?

Gotta love how it's edgy and dark now it's on the 360/PS3. I love the uDraw. It's so bad.

If the images drawn in uDraw Studio: Instant Artist can be animated and integrated into XNA indie games/XBLA games, I could see this thing becoming bigger for the XBox 360 than Mario Paint was on the SNES.

I think it's pretty cool they're bringing this to consoles but what can you really do with it? Is there a site you upload the pix to? Hook a printer to your console? I've never tried it for Wii so I really have no idea what it does.
I'll prolly just stick with my wacom and photoshop

@VolksONER- You can hook a printer up to a PS3. The rest, I have no clue about just yet.

Cannot fucking wait. I was just about to buy this for Wii and this gets announced. Now I can try my skillz in HD and with Achievements. :3

Also: @Faux Furry: "If the images drawn in uDraw Studio: Instant Artist can be animated and integrated into XNA indie games/XBLA games, I could see this thing becoming bigger for the XBox 360 than Mario Paint was on the SNES."

This.

Also, also: @VolksONER: "I think it's pretty cool they're bringing this to consoles but what can you really do with it?

The Wii version offers MicroSD card support, which allows easy access from Wii-to-PC. Dunno about HD versions but I'm guessing they'll have even easier(e-mail it to yourself?) options/access.

I am genuinely excited about this tablet and I hope someone at Dtoid at least covers this thing for 5 minutes out of the DAYS they will be at the show.

I am an artist / animator and I use a tablet on a nigh-daily basis. Needless to say, I think uDraw is a great opportunity to get people to explore their creativity, especially for kids. I think it is a neat little peripheral, and I will probably check out the PS3 version.
