Ubisoft wants Valiant Hearts to bring a tear to your eye

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a World War I game unlike any other I've seen.

It's the kind of project that makes me okay with the existence of the Assassin's Creeds of the Ubisoft world -- without those mega franchises and their continuous sequels, Valiant Hearts and the recent string of poor selling but amazing Rayman titles might not exist.

Still, I hope this game can find its audience. It's out on June 25 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. This video, the first in a series of developer diaries, covers the art lead by Paul Tumelaire as well as the emotional, personal story Ubisoft Montpellier hopes to tell.

Valiant Hearts' launch trailer makes me want this game now

Valiant Hearts has been on my radar for a while now. Hell, anything in the UbiArt engine is. But, my curiosity ramped up when Chris "Energizer Bunny" Carter said it was good enough to merit a 9/10. After watching this trailer, I think it's time I queue it up right now so I can queue up some tears in a few hours.more

Review: Valiant Hearts: The Great War

Valiant Hearts is a game about the horrors of World War I

First, you need to watch this trailer for Valiant Hearts: The Great War before reading anything about it. This isn't your typical war game, as Valiant Hearts is going beyond the disconnected action tropes of "good versus evi...more

Check out new direct-feed Bloodborne gameplay

Last week, I got to go hands-on with Bloodborne. This visually evocative and bleak follow-up to Dark Souls II is a change of pace, but also something that feels and plays very much like the games of the past. While the change...more
