I seriously considered buying PoP2008 during the Steam summer sale, but then I remembered it's published by Ubisoft, so I pirated it instead. Still haven't played it, and probably won't since I'm still working on lots of other games (PC and PSP, legit and pirated) and I'm really kinda PoPed out after Revelations and Rival Swords (and I started PSP Forgotten Sands; what garbage!)
Furthermore, they are trying to have their own Origin like service.
they may have "changed" the policy but there's no games that will support it.
either this comment was sent from the future, or something isn't right.
Really Jim, they do the one thing you wanted them to do and that's not good enough? *Sad face*
In all honesty though, this is a good thing. It also makes Asscreed 3 and Watch Dogs on PC a tad more desirable. I'm curious if this is going to be a retroactive update to other Ubisoft PC games.
I am okay with online activations, but just one.
Ah hell, I still won't buy their PC games because they're all meant for consoles and I can just buy or rent them for those platforms. Unless it's Splinter Cell. I did buy that because I don't have a 360.
i think for many of us the issue goes beyond the annoyance of the DRM. UBI has been downright hostile and insulting to PC players in more ways than just that, and i for one am not going to forget it in a hurry.
@SephirothX: If Hitler was still alive, said he was sorry and gave a million dollars to charity would you feel any different towards him?
Probably not.
Seriously, how many times have they (or really many other companies) said one thing, then switched it up after the fact? I seem to remember (though not a for instance) something like that happening with Ubisoft within the last few years.
I'll believe it when its been in place and has stayed that way for at least 1 CONSISTENT years time.
Comments over - see Godwins Law.
Did you actually just compare a software company to a mass murdering fuckhead.
You plum.
However, knowing Ubi, AC3 will probably not do as well as they want (no matter how unrealistic), they will yell piracy, and go back to locking their games down again, no lesson learned.
Ubisucks.
