Ubisoft/Free Radical: Please install this patch for Haze that doesn't exist photo

Having only played through some of the demo for Haze, I'm not even going to comment on the quality of Free Radical's PlayStation 3 first-person shooter. I will say that the four-player cooperative drop-in/drop-out sounds really promising. But here's the problem -- that feature doesn't work.

According to a recent thread at the official Ubisoft forums, when you try to invite a friend to your game, the game prompts you to download and install a patch. This would be fine, but seeing as how a patch doesn't exists, one can easily see the issue. It's unclear why the game would ship with this ridiculous and significant issue, but let's hope that Free Radical and Ubisoft are on the case.

Any Dtoiders have this issue? How are you enjoying Haze otherwise? Anyone just waiting for the Xbox 360 version*?

some beta testers didn't do their jobs ... or the company didn't listen them

I do believe Haze will be the first game I've ever returned. It seemed promising six months ago when I "bought" it.

@Quest: I bet you any amount that Sony was so desperate for something, ANYTHING to respond to MS exclusives that they bullied them into delivering a late Alpha or early Beta.

You win some, you lose some. At least they have Timesplitters. I'll be looking forward to that!

Another hyped up game comes crashing down. I tried the demo @ my friend's place and it was pretty fun. I guess the developers didn't really put all the effort they could in the end.

Nope, no prob here. Maybe because after playing the demo, I lost all hope for this steaming pyle of crap and didnt buy it. Look for the price to drop on this game in less than 2 months... TOPS!

PS3 owners don't have friends anyway so I can understand where they would have missed this in QA.

That sucks for the people who picked the game up. I will be getting it at sometime for the co-op and plus, I love me FPS games.

What I think is really funny is that they were trying to hype the hell out of it, trying to make it teh halo killerz, but we, the people to whom they were trying to sell the game, were sitting here thinking...ummm...this doesn't look that good. Kind of generic. Like boiled chicken or something.

Maybe they should have payed a little more attention to the forums/blogs/whatnot and made a better game. Now, it's all on them.

I feel so justified in all my "negative nacy" talk of Haze the past few months.

The entire game is based of a Fighters guild quest in Oblivion, I think they even call the fighting enhancing substance nectar.

@dephect: Don't worry I will take that to heart and next time I plan on posting something so blatantly sarcastic I will be sure to tag it for you.

To summarize:
- I am aware that PS3 owners have friends.
- There is no excuse for their QA to have missed this.

i just finished the single player mode and i don't understand why so many people are shitting on this game. i enjoyed it,yes it's you typical FPS but you can say that about every other shooter that got great reviews.
i think what hurt it was all the hype surrounding the game people were expecting the best thing ever made in video gaming.
i just rented it and it was well worth the $10 fee for a few hours of fun.
