Ubisoft files trademark for Galaxy Racers, we shrug photo

What is Galaxy Racers. I tried to come up with a mental image of what something called Galaxy Racers would look like. The first thing I imagined was a futuristic racer, like F-Zero, where floaty ships zoom along spacey tracks. But we don't need another one of those, so I thought of something else.

What about a turtle that is annoyingly slow? That sounds fun, doesn't it? You hold a Wii Remote and a Nunchuck, each representing the turtle's slow-ass legs. Waggle with all your might to see him move at a snails pace. To beat the game, you have to have Mr. Turtle run all the way across the galaxy.

We can only make sh*t up, as Ubisoft's trademark filing does not tell us much. It's a game. That's all we know. We'll look forward to hearing what Galaxy Racers really is.

In the meantime, got any better ideas? I really like the turtle idea.

More games require space turtles inside of them.

@mkshiranui

Why have a clone when you can hope for the real thing. Considering how many series have sprung up on the Wii I wouldn't be suprised if this came up after all if Punch Out Wii happened, Excitebike Wii happening and Star Fox Wii is being considered F-Zero Wii seems likely.

Header image made me think of a racing game between Great A'Tuin from Discworld vs. other astronomically scaled world carrying animals.

I know but personally I felt that considering Ubisoft treats the Wii and DS like absolute shit the chances of a decent clone are very low. On the other hand Nintendo really wants to get out some of the classics to please the hardcore crowd as much as they can.

A F-Zero Wii just seems obvious to me.

It's obviously a Mario Kart clone with Ubi characters.

Finally answering the age old question: Who would win a race the prince of Persia or Altair? Actually that sounds pretty cool if it's a foot race.

Everything Ubisoft puts on Wii is crap. The turtle idea is probably better then anything they would actually make.

Hi, I must admit, there is one tiny turtle in the game. But its a NPC living on the Planet Aquarius and its very old. And Robin Blubb provides Meals on Wheels for the old folks on Aquarius. Anyway, besides Turtles there are a lot of other creatures in the game. And the game is probably not what you'd expect. I can tell. : )
