Ubisoft eyes Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Driver San Francisco photo

Recent domain name registrations spotted by superannuation may hint at the future of Ubisoft's biggest franchise, as well as the location of a long overdue sequel.

The domain name assassinscreedbrotherhood.com was registered on April 14, and could be a number of things. The most obvious would be the name of an upcoming Assassin's Creed title; the publisher has already revealed that it plans to ship a follow up to Assassin's Creed 2 this year. Of course, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood would make a great name for a game, but could also be a catch-all web destination for the franchise.

The publisher has also registered driversanfrancisco.com, which seems to be a pretty solid confirmation that the next Driver title will take place in San Francisco. The next game in the Driver series has also been confirmed by the publisher, yet no details have been given. About a year ago Ubisoft registered for a Driver-related trademark which hinted that the title may be called Driver: The Recruit.

E3's supposed to be a big one this year, with plenty of announcements, and I suspect we'll see one or both of these games pop up sooner rather than later.

If it's not named Assassin's Creed III, we all know it's not a real follow-up to anything.

All good sequels have numbers in them. Activision knows that really well.

Hopefully they can revive Driver. I was a HUGE Driver fan. In fact I could go for a round of Driver right now.

Wow, that thread got out of control. I nominate some of those accounts for nuking. Just on the basis of jackassery.

Wow, a Driver game in SF would be...difficult. This city sucks for driving!

New Assassins Creed New Driver. Sounds like E3 is going to blow last years E3 out of the water.

Didn't they base it in SanFran in Parallel Lines?

A direct Parallel Lines sequel still set in the 70s would be cool. I never played much of Parallel Lines but I loved the setting even if it meant getting rid of Tanner.

I avoided ad-hominem attacks; I don't remember leaving any. I've always enjoyed a rigorous discussion, as long as that passion was reserved for the discussion and not those talking. I think whoever the guy with the Mario avatar was had no interest in what was being discussed. It was obvious that his entire purpose in the post was to troll someone into a flame war (which is why I never responded to him). I was enjoying my discussion with Brian Keljore, but lo-and-behold, once I've returned from work and am able to leave a response to him, I'm then redirected to a page that says "unable to find post." This happened four separate times. Since I can obviously comment here and not there, it makes me wonder: why would Destructoid censor my posts, especially since I didn't attack individuals, only arguments and ideologies? It's fucking mind-boggling, to be honest

I left a comment just a few minutes ago. :/

You should email Hamza and see if you've been banned from the thread. I'd be kind of offended if I were you. Especially if you were one of the constructive commenters.

Hmm... I know that Assassin's Creed is supposed to only be a Trilogy, though that may have changed.

Overall though, the second game made one thing very clear. Assassins have existed all throughout time and in every civilization: Ancient Egypt, Feudal Japan, etc. This makes me really expect to see a lot of stand alone spin-offs that could do a lot of cool stuff.

As for Driver, I haven't touched a Driver game since Driver 2. I did love the first one a lot though.

I really used to like Driver, back in the PSone days. Then Driv3r was announced, and I swore off the series forever.

Shame, Parallel Lines was a fun little romp.

@ Xyliac

I talked to Hamza and he doesn't know what could cause one story to become inaccessible either. Oh well, at least it wasn't censorship.

Thanks for making such a cool project. I've been checking the site for the Windows version, but I never left a comment about it. I know you are working hard and doing it for free so you shouldn't feel rushed or anything.

I'm a huge fan of Assassin's Creed. I typically play on my LED TV while listening to some great audio. The visual display of this game is amazing. Orlando Audio Visual
