After returning from my blast of a time at Warped Tour, I filled you guys in on Nintendo's 3DS showing at the festival. Little did I know, Ubisoft was there too. Yes, apparently they were tucked away somewhere in the dark recesses of the blistering, stinky field of tents. Despite having made more laps around the complex than a left-bound stock car, I missed it.
Luckily, Ubisoft was nice enough to release a quick reel from the tour now that it's finally wrapped up. From the looks of it Rocksmith was a hit, not that that should be too much of a surprise. I'll admit, I'm wary of music games now, but Rocksmith really looks like it could do something different. I honestly would've loved to have given it a try.
the sound in the trailer is messed up and for the love of god, TURN OFF the fuckin Warhammer 40k trailer, destructoid! 1minute ad before EVERY friggin movie is just ridiculous considering the fact that most of those trailers are also about 1-1.5 minute long.
i actually am really interested in this game. i always wanted to learn how to play guitar, but never could stick with the practice long enough since there was simply no encouragement and it got boring to just practice same few chords. this, if done properly definitely will give me an incentive to keep practicing.
it's the same reason why all those fitness games are so popular - it's pretty boring to do this on your own, but with Your Shape, Wii Fit and other fitness games you're getting feedback in real time, graphs, challenges etc. that makes training easy and interesting. i started training years before those titles came to market and know perfectly well how hard it was for me at first to make it into routine.
