Ubisoft announces last-minute EndWar limited edition headset bundle photo

With the game in stores tomorrow, it seems little late to announce a limited edition bundle, but here we are.

Ubisoft has announced that it will be shipping a limited edition headset bundle of EndWar for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Both bundles will ship with the official first-party wireless headsets for both consoles, and will cost $89.99. Ubisoft says the PS3 bundle will be available at select retailers, while the Xbox 360 bundle will be available exclusively at Best Buy. So get your "Reward Zone" cards ready.

EndWar and a headset go hand-in-hand, as the game utilizes voice-recognition technology to mobilize and command troops. Controllers are so last-gen.

[Update: Made a mistake, saying the PS3 bundle was a Best Buy exclusive; it's actually the 360 bundle that is exclusive to the retailer. Sorry for the fail and for any confusion.]

Does anyone see the major flaw with paying extra for special editions?

You pay extra, time goes on and you see it somewhere else for way cheaper because there trying to get rid of them.

I'll take the regular please. People really need to quit fucking with the gravy on all this.

But, headsets are cool.

I'm using the official headset with the demo (the one that comes with SOCOM and the one that will come with EndWar), and for whatever reason it keeps insisting that my mic sensitivity is too low, even if it's as high as it will go in the options. I had to rub my finger over the mic to pass the initial voice enrollment test. It seemed to work well enough in practice, but I hope this gets fixed by release....tomorrow.

@unangbangkay I think it has issues in general, in practice it seems to go fine but as soon as the real thing hits its a clusterfuck of mistakes.

I played the game and I actually kinda liked it, until I got to the skirmish and I had no clue what to do. How well the system was implemented surprised me, though. I'm a sucker for tactical games, and I think I'd rather get SOCOM because I need a good competitive multiplayer game for the PS3.

@dmgi

Resistance 2....

I played the SOCOM Beta and it still plays like a PS2 online game. Stay far away....

@sheppy

I meant that included the headset. If R2 included the headset I'd get it in a heartbeat
