Aren't they are on their 3rd Just Dance for Kids game? Christ.
Holly isn't doing that, since she's a supporter of the Dance Central series. She can just recognize a good franchise from a bad one...
Dance Central doesnt exist on Wii, where the bulk of this franchises sales come from. That and theres little to no difference between them from a casual point of view. I just think when theres such a problem in this community with tolerance and people being utterly contrarian about everything, that the staff shouldn't do the same thing with a game that doesnt fit the destructoid demographic.
No one is a sucker for buying this. They just have a casual taste.
We also don't have some bs concept of what our demographic is, or any structural rules on what games can or can't be written about here, or in what tone they must be written about. That would assume an organization on our part that we just don't have, and a desire for control that we collectively find disgusting. If we want to get into a discussion tolerance and contrarian garbage, let's talk about commenters who go out of their way to find offense in the innocuous.
Well, I guess sort of see where Courtney Roberts is coming from, but I just scratch that up to "well, that's Destructoid". There are plenty of other outlets to get your gaming news from in cut-and-dry chunks.
On the other, casuals get suckered into a lot of things. But if they enjoy it I don't see a problem with it. Dance Central *is* the superior franchise, but far more people have a Wii than a Kinect. And like Courtney said, I don't think the majority of those people really care about such things, or they're just ignorant.
Maybe i stretched it a bit on the demographic stuff, but forsakeneyes has what I was trying to say. I wasnt offended, I just didnt see the valid criticism in your post. If you had come out and said that you dont understand why people buy this when dance central exists then i wouldnt of even commented. But calling a whole bunch of people that have tonnes of fun playing these games suckers and saying that the game makes you want to throttle yourself was way into the "everyone who enjoys micheal bay films is an idiot" territory, or "games are for kids". Its attacking a group of people who have fun playing these games for where they choose to have fun, it crossed a line.
I don't blame you for it, I've made those arguments myself in times past, but its not particularly helpful. I didnt insinuate that theres only one demo for this either.
