It’s been a full 12 hours since I heard about this announcement and I still don’t know why it’s happening. That's right kids; ABC and Ubisoft have teamed up to bring Grey’s Anatomy to the Wii, DS and PC sometime this year.

In Grey’s Anatomy: The Video Game, players will take control of the doctors from the show and make decisions in their personal and professional lives. Players will get to perform surgeries and hopefully have lots and lots of sex just like in the TV show. Yes, I’m admitting that I’ve watched the show. I watch anything at least a few times. All I really know about Grey’s Anatomy is that it’s about doctors having crazy surgeries and f*cked up personal lives. Which leads me to believe that the game is going to basically be a Western version of Trauma Center.

And now, since I had to write up this story, enjoy a gallery of Katherine Heigl photos!
UBISOFT® SURGICALLY ENHANCES VIDEO GAME PORTFOLIO, ADDING HIT TV SERIES "GREY'S ANATOMY"

SAN FRANCISCO – January 7, 2009 – Today Ubisoft announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with ABC Studios to develop a video game based on the acclaimed television drama series "Grey's Anatomy." Designed for the Wii(TM), the Nintendo DS(TM) and PC, Grey's Anatomy: The Video Game is scheduled for release early 2009.

"Ubisoft is thrilled to be collaborating with ABC Studios to turn this phenomenal television series into an interactive experience," said Christian Salomon, vice president of worldwide licensing at Ubisoft. "In Grey's Anatomy: The Video Game, fans will have a chance to take on the roles of all of their favorite doctors in an all-new original storyline. As each doctor, players will make important personal and professional decisions, explore the direct relationships with each other, and perform the delicate surgeries the series is known for, all through fun and engaging game play."

Oh god... I actually don't mind the show but for the love of god, it doesn't need a game.

The existence of a Grey's Anatomy game while there still isn't a House game=more undeniable proof of the nonexistence of God.

@ Daxelman

House would make for a better game, especially on the Wii (imagine a first-person level where you have to use the Wiimote as a cane!). But I doubt that Ubisoft's marketing minds would deem it as "non-traditional gamer"-friendly. Pffft. I know plenty of chicks who think Hugh Laurie is hawt.

I love the show but I don't see why anyone would think this is a good idea.

I hope this game has a Death Cab soundtrack. The amount of suck would be so hard, it would collapse in on itself and swallow the entire planet.

Take THAT, Large Hadron Collider!

Grey's Anatomy=borderline soap opera<House MD

Considering House is based off of Sherlock Holmes, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_(TV_series)
they need to make a good enticing House game!

The only episode ive seen of Greys Anatomy involved some dude showing up at the hospital with a perma-boner. Would be interesting to see how Ubisoft could turn a situation like that into fun and exciting gameplay.
