Ubidays 2008 recap

     Prince of Persia

Wow. So the front page was overloaded with tons of content today. In between all of the regular news posts and features, I, along with the help of Chad and Nick, brought you all a ton of new info on upcoming Ubisoft games.

We finally have details on the new Prince of Persia game, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X is all kinds of awesome, and of course, let's not forget the biggest bombshell of today: The Beyond Good & Evil 2 teaser.

Hit the jump for a recap off all the Ubisoft stuff.

First the links:

I noticed Ubisoft had a few themes going on throughout these games. First, the freedom of exploration is being heavily focused on. Far Cry 2, Shaun White Snowboarding and Prince of Persia are all offering the freedom of choice to play through the game how players want to. You're the director of these games and you can play through the story as you see fit.

Another theme you can see in all of these games is that they're all trying something new. Shaun White is going to have 16 player matches, Far Cry has a heavy focus on fire, H.A.W.X is revitalizing the flight genre, and then there are the DS games that are trying to get people to stay healthy.

Overall, Ubisoft has a lot of games coming out with lots of potential in each one of them. What games are you guys and gals looking forward to the most?

[Also, Elika from Prince of Persia totally looks like Natalie Portman.]

Prince of Persia has the most interest from me at the moment. Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Far Cry 2 look cool as well. I was actually more interested in H.A.W.X. before I had to listen to "WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!" for 3 minutes. If I can't handle 3 minutes...

Shaun White Snowboarding came out of nowhere and look forward to it, but I'm excited about Prince of Persia more than ever.

Maybe this is a subtle hint towards who Ubisoft wants in the movie, no?

Thats a lot of really great looking titles from one company. Kudos! Wow. I wasn't excited about this event at all as I try to avoid media hype machines as much as possible but looking at everything after the fact... I'm as excited as ever. Looks to me like some quality games there so far. Woohoo!

Except their life coaching DS games, haha. What the hell happened there? Do we really need a no smoking game?

That has to be Natalie Portman, no two ways about it. I mean Prince of Persia is going to be a movie, so maybe she is securing a future role?
