Since I am shaking uncontrollably from excitement, I will spare you the typos and overdramatic exclamations. Let me just say that Ubisoft just showed a teaser for the now official Beyond Good & Evil 2 at its Ubidays event and nothing has ever made me happier in my entire life. I feel like I just had a child. A really good-looking, awesome child.

Rumor has it the footage – showing an unbelievably gorgeous Jade and Pey'j stranded in the middle of a vast desert – is running in the game’s engine. If this is true, I think I may die. Once more details of the surprise sequel are revealed, we here at Destructoid will, of course, keep you updated.

Oh, and if you're curious, I just had a heart attack.

Tell my family I love them ...

Cool. The first game was pretty fun. The the uncle pig guy who repeatedly whined "jaaaaaade" got a little annoying, but the story was cool. And the boat driving was a nice distraction, even though the aiming was a little off.

It's a zelda-esque game at heart, though, and I don't really like zelda games. I remember being a little disappointed in it.

But I think it's crazy that MS & Ubisoft haven't tried to capitalize on the original's cult status by offering it on XBL. Maybe this is a sign that they will.

Ha ha. When I said "gorgeous" I was talking about the graphics, including both characters. I was going to put Pey'j first, but calling him gorgeous would have made me look weird. :)

Also, OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME! :)

Jessetlemming: Jade's sitting on the car under the umbrella, were your eyes open? And I beat it on the PC without a single bug.

I'm also 199% sure that it's all pre-rendered.

I loved the first game and can't wait for a sequel, but this trailer didn't exactly get me excited. I never expected a sequel would take place in America or that there would all of a sudden be realistic cars in the game.

Okay, guys. I want to play the original Beyond Good & Evil. I only have an Xbox. Can someone help me score a copy? I'm having a rough time tracking down a copy of the Xbox version. Even eBay is nearly bare. What say you, wise ones? Any leads that I haven't seen?

It's obvious the game won't take place in America, but the scene was quite clearly inspired by highways that grow through the desert in the western USA. And the car LOOKS realistic, I have no clue how it drives, but I'm pretty sure it's like a car. I assumed nothing, you just assumed I was being 100% serious.

Finally! Hopefully the trilogy can be completed as planned. Maybe now BG&E is on Steam for $10 (coincidence?) maybe interest in that will be renewed and more people will actually play it like they bloody well should.

@Azrael XJM: Just checked the steam page and it says "I'm sorry this game is not available in your region" (New Zealand). Thanks Ubi, what the hell point was that?

Lucky for me i found a not-copy and i just started playing the first one on PC and now i have incentive to finish it before trailers for this are any more spoilerific. Looks gorgeous btw, both the original and the new trailer.

Hmmm, I might have to play through my Gamecube copy again once this sequel gets closer to release.

Also, I don't mind if there's no Wii version. I'd end up getting the 360 version anyway.

Damn, I remember finding a copy at Gamestop a month ago but saw that it wasn't BC. I should have gotten it anyway because I know (or hope) they'll eventually get it on there. It was gone last time I checked :(

Oh by the way. BG&E had one of THE BEST soundtracks of the last crop of games by far. So that's really something I'm looking forward too.

Hopefully they can iron out the plot into something a little deeper this time, because the characters are fucking great.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into Goozex, though I don't have enough games to really trade. I checked Amazon, but those copies were going for $25-30, which is a bit much for a used game, and a bit much for my budget right now.

I'll try eBay and Goozex, for now, though if anyone finds any leads, please let me know. Thanks, guys.
