Wait, what? What's Ubisoft doing with Soulcalibur IV? No need to worry folks, Ubisoft is simply handling the PAL distribution of the title. This is still Namco Bandai's little baby.
The latest trailer for Soulcalibur IV gives us some insight to the story for the game. Of course, it's always been pretty much about the same thing in every Soulcalibur so nothing too surprising here in that aspect.
One thing that I did just noticed for the first time is that you can damage your opponents clothing. A few of the ladies lose parts of their outfit as they get sliced up. Either I haven't been paying enough attention, or this is a new feature in IV.
THAT'S NOT ALL FOLKS! As well as having bunch of new screenshots for the game, Destructoid is offering you two new gameplay videos! These aren't just any kind of videos, folks. These two videos show off Darth Vader and Master Yoda battling it out against a couple of other fighters from the Soulcalibur world. Click READ MORE to accept this limited time offer!
Oh dang, did you see that! Because of Yoda's height, that chick missed Yoda by a mile. Yoda is so going to be a cheap character to play as ... which is exactly why I'm always going to use him.
You know, for a cyborg, Vader is pretty fast. And flexible.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Clothing damage you say? That's definitely a step forward in realism if it turns out to be more than just another way to see more bewbs. Not that there is anything wrong with more boobs, just it would be interesting if it actually worked in a believable way.
Although I'm probably one of the few who didn't get their panties in a bunch over Vader and Yoda being included I think that because of the whole height thing if Luke Skywalker wouldn't have been a better choice for the 360.
I'd rather play as Luke who would be a viably balanced fighter than just a kinda gimiky cheapo-benz like Yoda.
I felt a chill go down my spine, right after the monotone narrator. That chill being excitement seeing how fluid this game is on the new engine. Plus the damage.. my gawd the damage. So glad to finally see it make its grand appearance.
Curious just how much damage everyone can take. + dizzy?
Can only imagine how much will be crucial to gameplay from here on out.
Narishma: Since I've had the mind set lately that anything robotic is very slow. I'm a big fan of cybernetics so I think of the real world properties before the fantasy versions.
Yoda looks cheap as well, do want! I actually didn't care for him and wanted Vader instead, but why the hell does he move like a stiff from Virtua Fighter 1? Force grab look awesome though.. he just doesn't move like a Sith Lord.
Battle damage was one of the things they announced last april alongside finishing moves a la guilty gear, the damage is what let you perform this moves. Personally, I'm quite pleased with what I've seen so far (although, the star wars characters do seem out of place) and can't wait to get my hands on it.
Once again, thank you Namco for taking a big, fat dump on us Wii owners and not developing the game for it. Thank you so much for instead trying to make it up by releasing a shitty spinoff that insults our intelligence and taste as gamers.
Me? I'm not bitter....noo, of course not...
Game looks awesome, I just wish I could enjoy it without buying a new system.
Voldos roll into explosion attack made me bust a nut shit myself and pee myself at the same time. Congrats namco. You just made me make the biggest mess in my life.
The whole clothing getting ripped off sounds epic, this is mainly because 90% of gamers pick the slutty hot female characters! Yodo and Darth Vader on the other hand, way to ruin a close to perfect game, as if sticking in a Spartan in Dead or Alive 4 wasn't bad enough.

Also, dodos.

End of trailer. "God Da-..."

Yoda's height advantage reminds me of Gon from Tekken 3.
Also, dodo birds in the level background ftw.
and they have vader/yoda!
It's just like the movie!
We did that already in the late 1600s. Does the SC series go back that far? So that's what Lucas meant by 'A long time ago'.
