I'm sorry Two Worlds, I don't want to make the usual Oblivion comparisons because you've had me pretty damn intrigued since I first heard about you. Yes, this game does look like Bethesda's classic, but if you're going to look like something else, there are far worse titles you could stand to resemble than that one. Touting itself as "the most epic RPG of all time," Two Worlds has a lot to live up to, and a lot to accomplish if it wishes to knock the Elder Scrolls sequel from its pedestal.
Promising mounted combat and some deadly spells, as well as online multiplayer on both your Xbox 360 and your PC, as well as sporting some pretty gorgeous visuals, it looks like August just got even more stacked for releases. Come on Microsoft, are you wanting us to take out mortgages for all these games we're being swamped with?

Meet the rest of the team
I hated oblivion... mainly because the combat was less exciting than a game of Brain Age. Maybe they got that right in this game, so who knows. I'll wait for reviews.
I'd like to see MMORPG's become more action RPGish like that new Conan and less 100% grinding all the fucking time. I think we've all had our share of going to a certain area only to find a bagillion people ALREADY grinding up the spawn points thus forcing us to either join a team or wait for one little creature to pop up for no one to notice. That and leveling. Jesus, some games have upwards to 200 levels. ONLY SOMEONE WHO HAS NO LIFE IS GOING TO GO THROUGH THAT! WoW and FFXI was somewhat on the right track with lowering how many levels you have to go through. Hate WoW still of course.
As for Two Worlds, as long as it's not pay-to-play then I might get it. It looks interesting. Hopefully they did pump up the combat system compared to Oblivion which was so damn boring.
I got a copy of this a back in May, it was pretty fun despite having some minor bugs. The ability to combine the same types of weapons/armor/etc together to make some uber armor was a cool feature instead of just carrying around three types of the same weapon with nothing to do with them.
Animations and combat look much more exhilerating than oblivion, not to mention the locales look more varied. Character design looks like it's a bit different, and the magic looks like it actually gets more impressive than the same 3 visual effects over and over.
This game is circulating around P2P networks right now.
I have played it, and still am. It's a pretty good game and the visuals are ALOT better than oblivion (EXCEPT FOR THE FACES*).
The combat is a little buggy though, and there are some hiccups on my 1337 pc (OHMEEGOD!). There are patches just about every month, and the games is becoming better and better. Since it is a warez dl, there is no coop to be played online, and that, I imagine would be one of the most fun aspects of this game, so I'm deffinitely buying this for the 360!
Oh, Elder Scrolls V: Oblivion 2: Worlds is coming out in August? Nice. I still have to finish up Oblivion though - which will probably take the rest of my life since I don't get to play it often and it's so massive - so I'll probably have to skip Two Worlds.
Played the german version of the game at my uncle's place.
The game is huge and i spent most of my time lost, or marveling at how far i could see. I like the combat better than Oblivion, but the horse's movement doesn't look right to me.
Maybe it's just me but from the trailers, screenies and previews I've seen and read this game doesn't 'feel' right.
Y'know how in Oblivion, Tamriel has an almost tangible history? Like all the little details in the LOTR films that brought them to life and made them tactile?
Quite frankly, the combat was the worst part of Oblivion imo.
I don't think this game will be nearly as epic (not even close), but the fighting doesn't look as though you're trudging through molasses.
I have played through a majority of Two Worlds on the PC. While it is a very "epic" game, it's lacking an enormous amount of polish that Oblivion had.
As we get closer and closer to the US 360 and PC releases more patches are showing up, but it's still a very buggy game.
The combat is as forgettable as Oblivion's, swing, block, swing, block, cast, cast... and it's kinda sluggish to respond.
The main disappointment for me was the lack of a cohesive and story driven quest line. It does a good job allowing you the freedom to do anything, and you can actually pick a side to fight for, changing how cities are controlled and such...
Leveling system is kinda nice and allows you to make the character however you want, and one thing Oblivion sadly left out, Dual-Wield!!!
All in all, it feels like Oblivion's retarded red-headed stepchild that needs a beating. The story is weak-sauce, the fighting is generic, and the world is almost too open...
The on-line/multi-play is the only saving grace in this game, but that too even makes me wonder why you wouldn't just go pick up an MMO. I was very disappointed when I played it after all the "better than Oblivion" hype, because it's not even close.
@ HawtPawkit Yup, there's a dedicated server "fix" to be found out there... hint hint. Hosted it on my extra comp and me and a few of my friends (we like to screw around with MMO's on our own servers) played it for a bit.
It was fun, I would recommend it for the multi-player only if your gonna be playing with friends since it runs in a Diablo style individual instances of the world (Max 8 players). There's randomly generated quests and zones. It's impressive in it's scale and depth, and I definitely think the retail will have far fewer bugs and glitches. That has to be one of the reasons the US release was pushed so far back.
@Roryzilla Agreed, if they don't work on the voice-overs for release it's going to be sad. I could get a group of friends together and record better vo's with my comp mic...
yeah i too played the international version and we were pretty much beta testers for the damn thing.. that game was so buggy it was horrible. and it defiantly does not even come close to being as good as oblivion (and to those who say they didn't like oblivion.. first.. kill your self.. then two.. still don't play this game because you still wont like it.)
I only did it to test it out... I'm glad I didn't buy it. It's really sub-par. The animations are so bad, when your weapon hits an enemy, this 2d bloos spurt sprite pops up, it's ridiculous. And every NPC you meet at first has blonde hair and a black mustache.
having downloaded it, hoping for a game like oblivion that does some of the stuff that oblivion fails at, i was quite disappointed... it looks pretty good, except for faces, but animations are so freakin horrible... im really really glad i didnt buy it, although it did waste a lot of download *sigh*... and even tho i played it for only 10 min or so, it did seem to have a lot of good points that would put it at oblivions level... why why oh why did they screw up such important things?!?!?

Two Worlds doesn't have that 'feel'...
Plus the animation looks awkward and shitty.
I hope I'm wrong, but let's face it, I never am.

There are legitimate ways to get it, like importing it.
