You know what we're sick of? Screenshots. They don't move enough.
Two Worlds II developer Reality Pump Studios has the answer, and it's calling them "MoveShots." These are your average "screenshots" because they contain three seconds of action. You know, like video. Really short video. New screenshots, along with these "MoveShots," can be found over at the official Two Worlds II Web site, and they're looking pretty decent. Oh, and they're moving... like newspaper photos in Harry Potter.
Most interesting is that in an email to press today calling attention to the "MoveShots," they also call out the practice of "doctored screens," those touched up to make the game's visuals appear more impressive than they actually are.
"These so-called 'MoveShots' serve as a very vivid forecast into the Antaloor universe featured in Two Worlds," they write, "as well as dispelling any rumors about the possibility of doctored screenshots, which unfortunately are all too common throughout the modern day videogame industry."
Oh snap!
Oh, and yeah, the first game kind of sucked unless you just wanted to roam randomly and kill things all willy nilly.
"dispelling any rumors about the possibility of doctored screenshots"
Oh don't worry, nobody will be accusing you of doctoring those screenshots...
But yea, I predict another slew of mediocre reviews for this mediocre Elder Scrolls ripoff.
Seriously, the dialouge in the first was horrendus. The kind of shit nightmares are made of.
The problem was more that the developers were too ambitious for the time and the 360 seemed like it was on the verge of collapse trying to run the thing.
The gameworld and gameplay were great....it was the near dead framerate and massive pop up that were the problem.
Yeah, the technical stuff made it borderline unplayable, but underneath that was a a fun RPG with a great combat system and inventory layout (although I'm still not sure if the bad voice acting was an in-joke...or just a joke).
If they actually do have an engine that can run the game this time, then people could be suprised how good the game might be.
I don't know...maybe I'm the only person not a relative to someone in the company who's looking forward to what they come up with.
I just figured if the developers ever looked through this (and why wouldn't they? Destructoid is the only place that matters), they could see at least one guy who did see the good stuff under the massive faults. There's potencial for a great game.
