Two weeks until The Swapper lands on Steam

11:00 PM on 05.16.2013

A few seconds into this trailer for The Swapper and I'm reminded of how uniquely gorgeous the puzzle-platformer looks. There is, after all, a reason why we resort to bringing up The Neverhood in these situations; not enough games opt for the claymation look. If you're on board with such sentiment, take note that the game is releasing for Steam on May 30.

Puzzles will revolve around a device that lets you clone yourself and swap between living copies. More than that novel premise, The Swapper appears unsettling -- creepy, even -- without resorting to jump scares or twisted monsters. That's some effective environmental design if I've ever seen it.

The Swapper deserves your attention

PAX East had a ton of indie games on display this year, and while many of them looked great, only a handful stopped me dead in my tracks as I became mesmerized by what was happening on-screen. The Swapper was one such game, ...more

Review: Putty Squad

Of all of the games to get a PS4 remake, you'd probably never put Putty Squad, an SNES game from 1994, at the top of the list. But here we are in 2014 with a full-on re-imagining, with more or less the same platforming mechanics that still work nearly 20 years later. The only problem is, System 3 Software has opted to charge $29.99 for a decidedly dated game -- which is a bit of a problem.more

Yes! Rain World is coming to Vita, PSN

Last week we learned Adult Swim Games had picked up and planned to publish Rain World, among other cool games. I have been unfettered in my enthusiasm for Rain World, which stars a slugcat who goes around stabbing other weir...more
