Two weeks: Guacamelee! dated and priced for PS3 and Vita

12:45 PM on 03.26.2013

If you haven't yet heard, hear me loud and clear right now: Guacamelee! looks to be one of the year's great cooperative games. Everything I've played of this Metroidvania brawler has me convinced you'll want to secure $14.99 for the April 9, 2013 (April 10 in Europe) release on PlayStation Network.

Today, Sony and DrinkBox Studios have also confirmed Cross-Buy support, meaning the aforementioned price includes both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita version of the game. Do watch the attached launch trailer to get an idea of what's in store. I'm crossing my fingers that Guacamelee! can deliver from start to finish.

Review: Guacamelee!

In popular Mexican culture, the luchador (masked wrestler) isn't just an athlete, he's a cultural icon. El Santo is probably the most power example of the luchador concept's hold on Mexico. Santo started professiona...more

Metroidvania-brawler Guacamelee! is guacamazing

One of my favorite parts about Mexican cuisine is its cohesiveness. It's a property found in all my favorite types of foods: Italian, Chinese, etc. You take a swath of semi-disparate elements, tie them together with a sauce, ...more

E3: Guacamelee! on Vita is bueno, but needs tweaking

For the past two months, I've been hearing good things about Guacamelee!, a colorful, luchador-themed Metroidvania game from DrinkBox Studios. Saying "Metroidvania" is usually good enough for me to be interested, but adding i...more

Not a Hero's 2D cover-based shooting killed me about a dozen times

Devolver Digital had a great showing at PAX East this year. Though Hotline Miami 2 might have had the most buzz going in, not long into the show people were shouting about Not a Hero. Developed by Roll7 (of OlliOlli fame), it...more
