On Thursday, our boys over at Epileptic Gaming had their usual show. And, as usual, they did a review of a game. That game on Thursday happened to be Crackdown (my baby) and joining Wheat with a review was a guy named Force. I don't know who Force is, but I assume he is reputable in whatever circles he resides in.
Moving on. After hearing Wheat and Force go back and forth on their Crackdown reviews, I felt the urge to really let my voice (which of course is always right and represents the majority of gamers, duh!) be heard. This video is the proof of one man, with a plan, and a loud voice.
Clearly, Crackdown easily deserves a 90 IMO. Tire shooting is amusing when they're on the highway and they just lose control and flip. Otherwise it doesn't amuse me too much.
I prefer just blowing shit up from high heights, especially when jumping. Gives me a sense of superiority, I guess. But whatev.
Note to self: shoot out tires and watch the chaos ensue.
I agree, sometimes it nice to have a mindlessly fun game without the storyline yapping your shoulder to move on. If a game can hold your attention and entertain you that way, it good enough for me ^^
Summa is right. Crackdown is awesome. Its flaws are completely excusable for the fact that the game is actually fun. I don't care if other games are "technically" better, Crackdown is the shit because its actually fun to play.
and welcome back LadyLucifer, haven't seen you leave comments for a while.
Thanks ted, good to be back ;)
Thought i'd pop by, and when I saw a face off with Summa vs. Force, I couldn't resist putting my two sense in, and of course supporting Summa is always a worthy cause.
JLan... I'm deciding how to reply to your comment.. after much chin-stroking i've decided to return with a blank stare -_-
Yeah, Crackdown is teh crack and I am hopelessly addicted. It could definately use a little more depth. Hopefully the inevitable Crackdown 2 will be a 100% game. I'm with Summa on the 90% for sure.
its good for my adhd, cause i'm get so...i'm gonna steal your bike...then i start jumping rooftops and i'm like...steal what? so then i say fuck it and i'm running over innocent people and trying secure supply points that i've already secured and then i steal your bike. wait, why are there no bikes again?
I'd say some random side-missions would be a nice addition to Crackdown. Just something else to do, mostly since I can't find the 19 Agility orbs that I'm missing and I just don't know where to look anymore!
Summa, totally agree with you. Sometimes I just like to turn on San Andreas and kill some people, blow some shit up and shoot our tires and ride on the rims especially in the low rider with NOS!
The games alright, ive played for the last couple days and its amusing but theres not too much depth. co-op is the best thing about it hands down, there are a few flaws that get annoying after a while, but the dont completely ruin it. I wouldnt give it 9 out of 10, more like and 8, 8.5 at best.
I give it an 8/10 and I'm being generous. You guy are raising it up on this fucking pedestal like it the next fucking Gears of War. It's ultimately a shallow but fun game that nobody will be playing in a few months.
For those of you that somehow don't know it (apparantly Summa) Force is the co-host of Epileptic Gaming and has been for several years now, so he wasn't just some random caller chiming in with his opinion. He's just as much a part of the show as Wheat is.
There's more than one type of gamer out there and Force's opinion is completely valid for the type of games he likes. Personally, I'm more inclined to agree with Force here based on the 2 reviews and on my experience with the demo.
Let's not forget Rev Anthony's Zelda score. Sure people might not have agreed with it, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be respected.
force is retarded and obviously doesn't understand scale and numbers. the worst music he's heard in forever equates to a seven?! Are you retarded? 7 is a good score, worst in forever is a 3, 4, 5. Wheat was right on with his numbers, and they made sense, then force blows some shit out of mouth (which he called a review) with numbers about .5-1 points below wheat's even though they disagreed on almost everything. down with force. i do not respect anything that comes out of his mouth from now on.
As Chris mentioned, Force is a long time reviewer of Epileptic and I found the attitude of Summa to be very unprofessional (calling him moron for example).
Get your facts straight first jackass.
As for the review - Crackdown is jet another repetitive sandbox game. Give it up already!
summa's right. djwheat agreed, so he's ok in my book (and kudos to him putting together a web gaming show anyway. i like it. its funny.).
crackdown is easily one of the top games for the 360 right now and if i had to rate it, i'd say 95%. i've put in at least 50 hours (460/500, 160/300, 32 achievements) and the fun factor can't be beat. i actually like the style and gameplay much more than the gta games, none of which i've played more than this.
add co-op to the mix and i have a sandbox that my buddies and i can just jump in and mess around with --- brilliant!
force embodies the opinion of a lot of folks i know, however. it doesn't grab them and i guess that's wrong. people are entitled to their wrong opinions, as stupid and wrong as they may be and reeking of obviously wrongness on all counts.
and how can a soundtrack with amon tobin rate a 7? wtf. on second thought, maybe he shouldn't be entitled to his opinion. we don't let retarded people drive, maybe we shouldn't let them espouse their views on web shows either. just a thought.
now if you'll excuse me, i need to go shoot out some tires on delivery trucks, watch them spin out of control and burst into flames, the entire time giggling like a schoolgirl.
I wish I had played this game as much as Force, Summa or WHEAT so I could jump in on the smack. Let me just say that all sandbox games are 80% TOPS for me.
I understand that a 76% is not bad, but to give Excitetruck an 80%? Let me put it like this:this game is so good, I started ignoring shit I'm supposed to do around my house just to play this motherfucker. I haven't done that in years!
Crackdown is awesome. I just got all 43 Achievements!!! No guides or anything either. I've been hunting orbs all freakin week... And loving it! I can't wait for more content to download. I need those 100 achievement points they promised after launch!!!
It's really kinda sad i have all the achievements now... Sad because i feel like there is nothing left to do and sad because well... i have all the achievements already and i've been playing for only a little over a week...
