Two unnamed Tom Clancy games are in the works photo

With the just-released Splinter Cell: Conviction still fresh on many of our minds, it might be a little early to begin thinking about future Tom Clancy games beyond what we know is in Ubisoft's pipeline: a follow-up to EndWar and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Ubisoft's Michel Verheijdt, speaking to Dutch website Control, confirmed that he was working on two Tom Clancy videogames. He then proceeded to make a joke about sending Sam Fisher our way if we were to hear more -- in other words, actual -- details about the two projects.

Assuming Verheijdt isn't talking about EndWar 2, which hasn't really been talked about much at all, I suppose that must mean something along the lines of Rainbow Six, HAWX, or maybe even more Splinter Cell. After Conviction, I'm more than ready for more Sam Fisher action.

I never understood why they give Tom Clancy money to put his name on the box, it's not as if it will help to sell more copies. It just seems a waste of money, what does he actually do for the games?

Tom Clancy milking his name to produce more videogames regardless of quality or oversaturation? Nonsense I find this highly speculative why would he want to do that?
He made a good game (all by himself) in conviction and for him this is clearly about the creative mind flowing.
Still wouldn't mind a new Rainbow Six...

Tom Clancy always looked like Roy Orbison to me...

I wish the Clancy games would go back to the original Rainbow Six layouts.

Well, not just ANY R6 game, but an actual good one. Last decent R6 game I played was Rainbow Six 3 (yeah, a loooong time ago), it has ceased to be good since it was adapted for (apparently?) less tactical console gamers.

As hard as it is for me to care about anything Clancy-related besides that shiny new Ghost Recon game, I do know that there's a new movie being made based on the Jack Ryan character. One of these games may be related to that.

Right. He wrote all of those Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, EndWar, and HAWX books. Plus, 89 sequels to Rainbow Six.

Wait, what?

In all seriousness, I'll never understand why they keep slapping the Tom Clancy name on all of these games. I guess after the success of Rainbow Six, it was a way to buoy sales for other, somewhat similar games (e.g. Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell), some of which turned out to be successful in their own right, only adding to the marketability of the Clancy "brand."

I'm down for more Rainbow 6. I loved R61 on PC(when i had one that could play games) and the XBox1 game(forgot the name) and Rainbow 6 Vegas1&2 were pretty 'kewl'.

Also, Tom Clancy hasn't had shit to do with ANY of the games other than writing the book some of them were based on. Now that Ubisoft parked a money truck at his house, they don't have to pay him shit but can keep using his name.

He doesn't mean shit(sure, some of his books were OK) but a Rainbow 6(or any game) without his name would be like... Guitar Hero 6 being called just "Guitar Game 6".

GHOST RECON FUTURE SOLDIER! <--- I want it NAO!

I'm pretty sure Endwar 2 got canned a while back dude. I'm sure they have said that.

Also who gives a crap if his name is on the games? It doesn't make a difference, so is unimportant.

I lol at those who think the original rainbox sixes were better than vegas and ghost recon was better than GRAW. Enjoy being in denial guys! Critically, Rainbow six vegas performed better than it's forebares, as did GRAW compared to the old ghost recons (check it at metacritic).

I have to agree with Rammstien, I want GRFS ASAP.

And splinter cell convicition was sweet but I hope the next one takes longer than ten minutes to complete.

Future Soldier looks stupid IMO. If I could sell my beta code I would.

Delta sq22 - Splinter Cell was never a book by Tom Clancy, merely inspired by and endorsed.
