Double standards and random rule changes are unfortunately the nature of conventions and expos. If this gets enough press I wouldn't be surprised if this sort of thing has an apology and the ban is overturned.
PAX is not what it was intended to be. It has become Corporate just like E3. Wouldn't be surprised if the number of public tickets available steadily declines to allow more Press/Publishers/Sponers/ect.

Hasn't PAX been pretty vocal about the "no booth babes" policy for like 2 years now? Is this really that surprising?
I understand the PAX peoples' idea in making the shows family friendly, but they're still showing the game she was working for which contains the character that's wearing exactly what she was. What's so much worse in having the real thing walking around?

I guess it's ok if it's a game as long as it only gets shown at a gaming convention. But REAL LIFE female women bodies? Terrible. Half nude dudes though? Totally cool. Unless they are fat. Then don't do it. Your boobs look too much like girl boobs, and that would be wrong to see that.

Keith is a troll. He was banned because he was interrupting panels last year with a camera crew. He begged to be let back in conditionally, and immediately broke those conditions. He can play the martyr all he wants, but it's all a show.
As for Jessica, there has always been a No Booth Babes policy at PAX. It has nothing to do with trying to make the show family freidnly, it pointedly is not. It's there to prevent expo booths from using scummy tactics to draw attention to their booths. The games have to stand on their own.

Shame the other copy of this article went away. I made what I felt like was a pretty salient point about the booth babes bullshit and now it's gone. Don't remember how I worded it now, and others have already brought up the point in this copy or the article before me so I won't bother rehashing it.

I can understand if this is meant to be a family event and the organisers want things to stay relatively clean, but the fact that they let Ms. Nigri wear that outfit on the first day, but then changed their minds for the second, pretty much negates their stance.
If they had said from the start that those kinds of outfits were too risque, then fair enough, but inconsistency just makes THEM look unprofessional.

That's fucking bullshit. I just lost a lot of love for PA and PAX. The no booth babe thing is complete bullshit when you have half the women in there cosplaying their favorite thong-showing, open-midrif, no-bra-having game/comic character.

There aren't supposed to be booth babes at PAX anyway - and for good reason. But if Jessica wants to prance around in a boobless latex jumpsuit, I'll be more than happy to invite my friends over and have a "4 guys who like boobs" convention for her.

There's a difference between having someone cosplay the main character from your upcoming game and just having a bunch of scantily clad women standing around. It's all about context people.
It is because PAX East is an ABOMINATION that never should have happened. The East Coast is too puritan, stupid, and boring for something like PAX. I should know, I lived there most of my life until I saw the light. See you at PAX PRIME, where nudity would just be eyerolled.
But Jessica is not a booth babe. A booth babe is someone who's hired to look good but has nothing to do with the game and usually knows very little about video games.
She's a cosplayer. She's cosplayed before. She's dressed as the main character in a video game. The only difference between her and the other cosplayers at PAX dressed in skimpy outfits is that she's hired to cosplay. It's not like when THQ hires a bunch of random girls in bikinis who actually have very little to do with the actual game.

I'm not going to give these "cosplayers" or "booth babes" (whatever you want to call them) the benefit of the doubt. Everyone knows why they're at these shows, and its not because of their gaming expertise or because they actually have anything valuable to add to the medium.
They're there because of tits.
One less pair of tits at a convention isn't going to affect the medium, any more than those tits affected it to begin with. I actually commend Penny Arcade for attempting to do away with the chaff and actually focus on...you know, video games.
