It's not a lighthearted show for the gamers anymore.
Also, there is a significant difference between an enthusiastic attendee wearing a costume of questionable taste and a company paying a model to pander to customers. One is sincere, the other is exploitative and gross.
But lets shit on the conference organizers who wanted to create an atmosphere where people of all kinds could feel comfortable and included.
Keith is harmless. Let him do his thing. Not like he was wearing Dick Wolves underwear and things were about to get rape-y or something.
As for Jessica, there has always been a No Booth Babes policy at PAX. It has nothing to do with trying to make the show family freidnly, it pointedly is not. It's there to prevent expo booths from using scummy tactics to draw attention to their booths. The games have to stand on their own.
Suffice it to say, the PAX people did the right thing here and I'm grateful.
If they had said from the start that those kinds of outfits were too risque, then fair enough, but inconsistency just makes THEM look unprofessional.
Welcome and stared at like they've never been stared at before!
Same with underwear dude. His bouncing nards would be oogled like never before at MAGFest.
What I'm saying is that MAGFest is fucking awesome and better than PAX.
That rule makes sense at E3 because you no one cossplays there, but at PAX? They can fuck right off.
I can sort of understand the keith thing considering what he did, but a fucking LIFETIME BAN? Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullshiiiiiiiiiiit.
I can't stop looking at the picture with Jessica Nigri in it. I mean she's ok, but look at Holmes MMM whole lot of man...... wait I mean..... nevermind.
Still think this is pretty dumb.
And I'm pretty sure you can all figure out what my stance is towards Jessica.
(spoilers: my stance is "as close to her as possible")
She's a cosplayer. She's cosplayed before. She's dressed as the main character in a video game. The only difference between her and the other cosplayers at PAX dressed in skimpy outfits is that she's hired to cosplay. It's not like when THQ hires a bunch of random girls in bikinis who actually have very little to do with the actual game.
So I'm just gonna say everyone on the planet is to blame for this whole thing. Except Holmes, cause he is all nice and sweet.
They're there because of tits.
One less pair of tits at a convention isn't going to affect the medium, any more than those tits affected it to begin with. I actually commend Penny Arcade for attempting to do away with the chaff and actually focus on...you know, video games.
I want to measure the stick that's up the ass of whoever made the decision to kick these two out. Must be epic.
