A new Twisted Metal has been rumored forever now, and hinted at and kind of directly referred to by David Jaffe himself. It's one of those terribly, terribly kept secrets and Jaffe is probably the biggest culprit in hinting at the game. As we know, he likes to talk. Speaking of Jaffe talking and letting info about Twisted Metal slip, here he is entirely not confirming and not describing what the next Twisted Metal game is not going to be about.
"Just to be clear, I've never said we were or were NOT making a new Twisted Metal. Ever," he states on his blog. "But just to be 100% clear, if we were to make a new Twisted, I would consider it a reboot. The last console Twisted was 10 years ago. If we were to make a new one, we'd be starting with the assumption that no one knows what Twisted Metal is anymore and we'd have to re-earn each and every fan the series ever had. So in that sense, IF we were to ever make a new one, we'd consider it a brand new series/game/franchise."
So just to be really, really, really clear, Jaffe has confirmed the new Twisted Metal and it's going to be a reboot. But to be really, really, really, really, really clear, he hasn't confirmed any of that.

Reboot for XBOX360 & PS3, plox. Please no exclusivity!
I own all the consoles and buy mostly 360, but TM IS Sony in my eyes.
He's also stated that his goal is to sell the studio to Sony and work under the umbrella. He wants to be the next Naughty Dog. And all the power to him. Don't hold your breath for an Eat Sleep Play game on anything but Sony for the foreseeable future.
Out of the three most recent console exclusive reviews on this site (MAG: 8, Mass Effect 2: 10, No More Heroes 2: 9.5), MAG got the lowest score by over a point.
Hell, InFamouos got a 6.5 average here!
Get your head out of your ass and take your retarded DToid conspiracy theories elsewhere.
You'll never be able to convince some people. There are still some who honestly pray to kojima every night that MGS4 will be coming to the 360! I just like to let them dream sometimes.
I'm just saying that it doesn't matter if you're a hopeful fanboy or not, we NEED a new Twisted Metal.

It not going to any other platform than the PS3
Not only that but Eat Sleep Play (Jaffe company) has a 3 exclusive games contract with Sony and it not a rumor, it stated on Eat Sleep Play website
Its not a bad thing though, PS3 needs all the exclusives it can get so silver linings eh? (THAT WAS A JOKE)
IMO Twisted Metal 2 on the PS1 was the pinnacle of the series so far, but Black on the PS2 wasn't bad either. I just never cared for 3 on the PS1 but the others I've all liked. Twisted Metal 2 is available on the Playstation store to buy as well.
I think I liked Vigilante 8 more. But whatever.
also i hope you can get out of your car now. maybe certain areas block cars. like going into buildings. you can take other peoples cars. or you can get out on the battle field(not smart)
also it would be online with ALL the players being the different drivers. and before you play online you choose who you want to be and it finds a game where that char hasnt been picked yet. that way you can be who you want with no one snagging your guy.
"The world shall have a new Twisted Metal, and it's gonna be on the publisher's platform it has ALWAYS been on."
Exactly, which is why FFXIII is a PS3 exclu- wait...
I spent countless hours of my youth playing the first one on PS1.
I cannot fucking wait for this game.
