Twisted Metal delayed and censored in Europe photo

Twisted Metal is suffering a few localization problems, resulting in the car-on-car violence being delayed in Europe. The game is now due out in March for PAL gamers, although a solid release date is yet to be confirmed.

In North America, the game is still slated for February 14 and there shouldn't be any problems making the date.

As well as the delay, the European version of Twisted Metal has been slightly censored by SCEE. David Jaffe says that most of the edits are in cutscenes and won't affect the actual gameplay. The biggest in-game change is that the screaming person tied to a gurney on the Meat Wagon is now a lifeless corpse.

Well, that's a shame.

Wait, are we talking all of Europe or just Germany?
Because i cant even remember the last time a game or movie has been censored in Austria.

Jim have you played the Demo yet? What are your thoughts? I think its pretty amazing. Its super fast and insane. And there are not FPS drops at all. Right now my main will probably be the Reaper though there are a bunch of vehicles not in the demo.

Thank god it's not as bad as Black. I'm pretty sure it had all of the cutscenes removed or something similarly insane. Interested to see the reasoning behind the censorship when something like the Darkness II gets passed uncut(not saying it shouldn't have)

At least if the man is screaming, he's still alive and has a chance to be saved/released/escape. Dead is worse.

Confirmed, European censors promote murder!

Guess I'm importing, then. Not as bad as TM: Black, but I like my cutscenes unaltered.

I played Twisted Metal and then the Darkness II demo and I was amazed at how gory the Darkness II was.

Ripping heads off, eating hearts, having a face blown apart in front of you, peeing on dead torn apart corpses....etc

The copy of Twisted Metal: Black that comes with it is also already confirmed to be the censored PAL version we had way back with the PS2 which took out all the cutscenes besides Darkside and I think a generic credits sequence.

So the nostalgia factor is doubly high for me.

"So someone screaming in agony is worse than a decomposing corps? OK"

Jaffe addressed that as well, while not trying to justify the move he was saying if you think about it's a bit more "sick". Anyway sucks, at least it isn't as censored as black was for you guys.

Really, they are doing that to Europe?? Last time I was in England I was entertained by TV that I know would never be shown here in Canada. And I ain't talking Coronation Street either.

I hope not all Europian copies will be censored. I hate it when one country or one organisation speaks for everybody. This is my biggest FUCK OFF for those idiots. If you really want to help the community do us a favour and censor your self from the world idiot.
