Turtle power! The best-selling XBLA games of 2007 revealed photo

The most popular Xbox Live Arcade games of 2007 were just announced and the late ‘80s arcade classic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, leads the pack. This makes me happy for many different reasons: 1) The game is awesome. 2) The game is not Yaris.

Surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly given Topher’s scathing RetroforceGo! reviews), a lot of older games still remain the most purchased. Conglaturation, Geometry Wars! Everyone still loves you!

Check out the full top ten list after the jump and let us know what you think. Did one of your favorites make it? Are you horribly depressed that Shrek-N-Roll wasn’t a bigger hit?

[Via CVG]

The Top Ten Best-selling XBLA Games of 2007

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1989 arcade game)
2. Worms
3. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
4. UNO
5. Bomberman LIVE!
6. 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures
7. Sonic The Hedgehog
8. Pinball FX
9. Geometry Wars Evolved
10. Texas Hold 'em

Yes, you read that right: no Pac-Man Chamionship Edition or Puzzle Quest. W. T. F.

Whether or not it's the best game on XBLA, Every Extend Extra Extreme is certainly the best value. It deserves to be purchased.

I was thinking about making a joke about Space Giraffe, but I guess that's getting kind of old, isn't it?

I'm glad to see worms is number 2. Twas a good substitute for Tank Wars and Scorched Earth.

There are only 3 rules in that game.

1. Jump then kick is the best way to survive.
2. Get the pizza first no matter how full your energy meter is compared to your teammates.
3. First one to the machine gets first choice of their turle.

PIZZA TIME !!!

I'm a little surprised that Worms beat out Symphony of the Night. I loved Worms back when I played it on the PC, but I couldn't get through the controls on the 360 when I played the demo.

Also, epic pic is epic. And I didn't like the 360's version of Worms even though I'm a huge fan. It was just too basic, plus no napalm? Lame.

Turtles and worms ftw.

Although the 360 version of worms is so gimped it's unbelievable.

Every Extend Extra Extreme?

Come on, that game had the replay value of a walnut.

Maybe I owe the game more time. Meh. I'll try it again.

Is Pac-Man C.E. really that good? I played the trial and it was neat, but it didn't seem "800 MS Points neat". Is the full version a lot better?

I loved the TMNT game now if they can release The Simpson Arcade game the circle will be complete. I was hoping they were going to tie it into the movie release come on it will sell.

also, Carcassonne (and Catan).

The game is awesome? Wow...that's the most ridiculous statement I've heard all day. Turtles In Time was awesome, but the original arcade game was crap, especially by today's standards.

that list is wrong because two of the games were free so technically they werent being sold. Uno was free with live subscriptions and texas hold em was free for like first 2 weeks it came out. ALL HAIL PAC MAN MS PAC MAN AND PAC MAN C.E.

@ tsunamikitsune:

I'm no Chad, but I will say this: "Get Pac-Man: Championship Edition!" After you play the full version you can never go back to Ms. Pac-Man, it's just that good. The way that the boards change is AMAAAAAZING!

Also, replays and graphs.

Konami so needs to bring Turtles in Time to XBLA, after seeing this game be the top selling Arcade title for 2007 how could they not?

Pac-Man CE has freakin NEON!!! In HD! It reminds me of 80's arcades. Right there its worth 800 points. But then you got some thumping techno. The new way of playing, but mostly trying to beat your friends high score gets addicting. Buy it!

Boom Boom Rocket has classical songs redone in techno. What's better in a game than a good soundtrack? Good soundtracks in games, something lacking in XBLA games. Nothing better than the feeling of playing a game with a good original score backing you up as you hum the tune. It makes me feel cool when I play it. I'm so old skool hehe. Right there its worth 800 points.

Marble Madness is my fav game of all time. Switchball was made for me, nothing better than rolling around a ball around and figuring out how to get it from point A to B. Love the challenge! Bring it on! Has a good soundtrack as well, that unlike Marble Blast doesn't get redundent. This game is worth every point! Buy it!
