Turtle Beach to develop the official headsets of MLG
Gaming headset makers Turtle Beach have partnered with Major League Gaming and will be developing the official headsets and audio equipment for the competitive videogame league. The first products to come out of this partnership, the new Ear Force XP7 and the MLG Pro Circuit Programmable Surround Sound Headsets, will be released this fall. Both were developed specifically for console and PC tournament use, and you'll see both in use at MLG Pro Circuit competitions later this year. An ongoing collaboration between Turtle Beach and MLG will bring about downloadable audio presets customized for levels, maps and full games, and these can beloaded onto the XP7 and Z7. Turtle Beach plans on showing off prototypes of these and other new products at E3 this year, so we'll go check them out for you and let you know what we think. Did you know? I'm not sure what happened, but they build cheap trash now that constantly malfunctions or falls apart. I for one would rather keep my Sennheiser HD555 headphones and my crazy looking Blue Snowball mic. No puffball mic in my face and good audio for my noggin. :) You can say I don't play as cool as the pros, but I'm sure they see a nice little perk that I never will. The last Turtle Beach device I had was an old sound card. It was nice -- when the drivers worked -- but they rarely worked. :( So Astro got dropped? are MLG insane? Turtle Beach has nowhere near the rep of Astro in the competitive scene, what's next MLG branded MadCatz produc- oh wait... Well, that's a bit sad. Personally speaking, I actually really like Astro's A30 headset. I haven't found any other headset that's oozed a similar kind of aesthetic charm. I'm sure audiophiles can find stuff to complain about the A30s, but I've used mine for a couple years now, and I've never had much to complain about. 11:30 PM on 05.23.2013 Turtle Beach headsets in the works for Xbox OneWith this generation's meteoric rise of Call of Duty came a similar interest in gaming headsets.
