Turn-based MMO Wakfu enters open beta

If you weren't already aware of Square Enix's upcoming free-to-play MMO Wakfu, consider this your wake-up call. I've had my eye on the game since the most recent PAX Prime and can finally try the game out now that it has entered open beta

I don't often look forward to MMO releases, but Wakfu hooked me as soon as it mentioned its turn-based battle system. Shining Force II and Final Fantasy Tactics are both in my top five games of all time, so naturally this has me interested. Wakfu's other big feature, at least for me, is the promise of a constantly evolving ecosystem. Actions that you take in the game world will have ecological repercussions. You can even make a species extinct! At least, so it says.

I'm not too sure on exactly how these mechanics work, or even if the game is enjoyable to actually play. I can only hope that they play out exactly like I want them to, but only time will tell. Anyone else going to be checking out this open beta?
