Tuper Tario Tros. is one part Mario, one part Tetris photo

Tuper Tario Tros. is a Newgrounds Flash game that takes the Super Mario Bros. formula and gives it a Tetris twist. The level you're playing on starts off as world 1-1 typical does, but you quickly find out that there are large empty spaces that will make you think of those Super Mario Frustration videos. So how do you move forward? By summoning the powers of Tetris!

By pressing the space bar, you'll be able to switch to Tetris and summon Tetriminoes resembling Super Mario Bros. blocks to create a path that Mario can take safely across the level. The screen will move continuously so you have to juggle the Tetris and Super Mario worlds frequently. You can also use the Tetrimonoes to crush Goombas, but they can harm Mario as well if you're not careful.

I didn't get too far, but the game is definitely a good time waster during this slow week.

I beat the game this morning after I ragequit it.. I realized i was taking the wrong approach and tried it again. It's an interesting concept and it would be cool to see what they would do with more then one level

That's a neat concept, but it's frustrating as hell. Needs some more inspired level design that takes advantage of the Tetris gimmick better than just "here's a gap; bridge it!"

When people make a flash game, why is it that the movement keys are always on the right, and the action keys (jump, attack, whatever) are always on the left.

Seriously, every gamepad I can think of has movement keys on the left (think D-Pad or control stick), and has action buttons on the right (X, A, B, O). Even computer controls generally have movement on left (arrow keys or WASD) and action on right (mouse).

Don't put movement on arrow keys and then jump on X and whatever the hell on spacebar! That's backwards!

It's fun except for the fact that it takes forever to get anywhere.

Almost as neat as that two player mouse controlled one I saw ages ago.
