Back in 1986, Sierra's Kings Quest games were the bomb. There were essentially these gigantic colorful adventure games where you wandered around aimlessly for hours pestering townspeople until the story unfolded. Unlike other games of their time, they felt vast and full of endless posibilities, however tightly scripted. As technology improved, the later sequels eventually were brought to 3D... but they were so lame. IMHO the adventure genre was forever ruined by ridiculous tasks in Gabriel Knight III, and has truly never recovered. They were succeeded by role playing games with gopher adventure elements, for better or worse. But alas! There has risen a plucky group of gamers called Imfamous Adventures that have taken it upon themselves to bring back those true 2D adventuring golden days, starting with a completely 1:1 remaster of Roberta William's classic 1986 hit, King's Quest III. As you can see from the screenshot above, this is a big improvement from the 16 color original marvel. They have also brought on a composer to remake all of the music, which is also available as a free download. The game was completed four days ago and is now available for download.
