Truck containing 1,300 Xbox 360's stolen in Canada photo

We've heard stories of game-related robberies before, but this one is pretty impressive if you ask me (and by impressive, I mean f*cked up). Last week in Southern Ontario, Canada in a small city called Mississauga, a guy (or a few guys) decided they'd like to have some Xbox 360's -- a lot of them, in fact. Around 4:00 in the morning, a truck containing roughly 1,300 of the consoles was stolen from a trailer yard.

The police reported that for or five suspects wearing black took the 16-metre 2007 Air-Ride trailer. In case you spot something similar on the road while you're on your way to pick up your daily Egg McMuffin, the Ontario licence plate is C11-47X and trailer identification number 55334.

The security guard on duty was found bound and stuck under a nearby trailer. We're pretty sure he's been fired by now.

I'll be keeping my eyes on the local Kijiji! (For sales, not crime fighting)

LOL! I'm Canadian... and you have to admit that it was a rather stylish robbery!... hey, and no one got shot unlike a lot of those "American" console robberies! :)

They're going to return it later when it RRODs, no need to worry.

I'm sure Micro$oft has unleashed their corporate assassins to track down the Canucks and exact vengeance upon them, nobody steals money from M$ and lives! That "$" in M$ isn't there for show you know!

haha, I'm sure the shipping manifesto has all the serial numbers for the whole shipment, so if any of those systems hits xbl, ban-hammer.

Would suck for the all the fools who would no doubt buy a cheaper system from the back of some Canadians snow mobile

Sauga is not a 'small town'... it's part of the Greater TOronto Area... so it's kinda like a suburb... but actually attached to the city.

Also...why would the security guard be fired?

Mircosoft doesn't care they just want to use it as an acuse to raise prices on current Xboxs. "We've taken a HUGE loss and 100000000! XBOXES HAVE BEEN STOLEN!"

Quite a good job. Modern day robin hoods I would say. Robin hoods that probably robbed the truck because they have to stick needles in their arms every day and ran out of furniture and goods to pawn.

Two xboxes pawned a week 6,500 weeks of drugs.

Mississauga is the 6th largest city in Canada. Sorry, the whole hometown pride sort of just kicked in right now.

But yeah, I totally agreed with BlackSymbiote. I never thought I'd see it mentioned on Dtoid, let alone for this. Though I haven't checked the local newspaper yet, I wonder if it's enough for frontpage.

The security guard would not be fired, just saying. There job is to observe and report, not prevent crimes.

Congrats you just lost $520,000 worth of Xbox 360s you useless security guard.

That being said if it was five on one and all the five having guns I don't think even the best security guard would have been able to stop them from stealing the truck.

Inside job for the win no way they randomly stole that truck and no way did they check all the trucks in the place wonder how much they paid the security guard.
