Trophies being added to Tomb Raider: Underworld on May 28 photo

If you haven’t let GameStop steal your PlayStation 3 copy of Tomb Raider: Underworld yet, you probably enjoyed it. Good for you. Perhaps as a way of congratulations for holding onto a game for more than two weeks (or just because, you know, it needed it) Eidos is whipping out a Trophy patch on May 28. Huzzah!

“I am pleased to be able to announce,” Eidos community manager Keir Edmonds said via the official Tomb Raider: Underworld message board, “that the PS3 Trophy Patch for Tomb Raider: Underworld has a confirmed worldwide release date of Thursday the 28th of May. “

“Huzzah,” the manager exclaimed. “Sorry for the delay and thank you very much to those who were able to wait patiently, it's really appreciated and I hope you get some great Raiding out of it.”

As for what you’ll be rewarded for, well, you’ll need to do some “Raiding” to find that information. Good luck, guys.

This is the first action game in years that I bothered playing past the first hour, then promptly stopped with the intention of never coming back. I honestly never felt like continuing: it just made me want to bite the disc in half and put in Uncharted 2.

If only they'd announce this sort of thing for Saints Row 2, MGS4, and Valkyria Chronicles. Oh well.

... and then everyone will have to start a new game just to get the trophies? I think adding trophies to games that have already been released is a waste of the developer's time and my time. There is little chance I'd start a new game of MGS4 just to get trophies--the game already has a reward system that grants you some goodies after beating it.

By the time GTA4 got trophies, I hadn't played it in ages... and I still haven't.

Just my opinion.

About fucking time. Too bad I beat and traded it in six months ago. Maybe I'll think about playing it if we get trophies for stuff we've already done but I doubt it.

Isn't Eidos (do they still exist?) developing dlc for the game? The additions of trophies for the game isn't probably going to make PS3 users buy the game considering the review.

Unangbangkay is right. I want to add that the PS3 LEGO games could use a trophy update as well.

I'd probably get this game on the cheap sometime. Sadly, Uncharted has taken the place of Tomb Raider in my heart. I can't wait for the sequel! Bring on the realistic character animations!

Half-tuck shirts > Boobs? That could be what I'm insinuating.

"Sadly, Uncharted has taken the place of Tomb Raider in my heart."

You'e summed it up perfectly there. Whilst Eidos was faffing around with the same Tomb Raider formula from the original to Chronicles, an abortion in the middle, then re-inventing it as it should have been, Naughty Dog got it right the first time round.

Drake's vulnerable, funny, and most importantly Human. Lara was never a character anybody could relate to, too perfect, laughed at death. I think Underworld is now in the Platinum range on PS3, but even then I'd have to be cheap for me to get. I'm still working through Anniversary on Wii, and it's a struggle :|
