Trine sequel is certainly coming photo

For those of us who are still using our computers as gaming platforms we've known the wonders of the body swapping, RPG Trine for a good long while now. While not the greatest game on earth, it was definitely a creative and interesting stab at the genre. Those living in Europe have recently received the game on the PS3 after a few delays, and have learned what a great indie game it is and those in the US who console game will just have to wait a bit longer to experience the game. The 360 version is a bit up in the air at the moment, but should be coming. In short, as long as you don't own solely a Wii there is a strong possibility you will be able to play this game.

With the game not even released on all of its platforms it's a little early to start talking sequels, right? Evidently not as Frozenbyte, the dev behind the game, CEO Lauri Hyvärinen has blatantly stated that the company will be working on more Trine. “There will be certainly more Trine, but in what form, platforms and such, that still remains a small secret of ours," he said in a recent interview.

Good news for all of us looking for an RPG that takes a bit of a different route and offers up some quality gameplay at a decent price.

This game looks good, but I'm still a little confused as to why the game ws stated to have a lot of difficulties leading to a ps3 delay, yet the U.K. gets it early. It doesn't look like a text heavy game that would require a much longer localization to me...

This is the one game i really want to come to XBLA. I have a PS3 but i really don't play it much. Having this game on XBLA with 3 person co-op would be awesome.

This game seems like a perfect fit for XBLA. Especially considering they already have the 360 controller configured on the PC version.

I thought it's a PS3 exclusive before.
Good thing it's coming to XBLA.

What the hell are you babbling on about? Trine may have some RPG elements in it, but it's by no means anything near an "RPG" as you put it.

It's as much an RPG as Diablo is, I would say.

Game is awesome no matter what genre combos you use on it.

Seriously, some upgrades and a fantasy background qualify the title enough to be considered an "RPG"? So Call of Duty 4 would have been an RPG, if the soldiers had hairy feet and the english colonel with the beard would have waved a magic staff instead of a combat rifle...?

It has an experience system, upgrade items and skills to choose and learn. Those are RPG elements...

It is an RPG/Platformer/Puzzle game hybrid. Most games are hybrids now, yes, even Call of Duty.

Awesome. It is, as far as I'm concerned, the perfect sequel material. It had enough good on itself to warrant a purchase and enough bad to make you want a sequel that fleshed out those inconsistancies. Should all the first game's peripheral flaws be corrected, we'll have one hell of an experience.

One that I wouldn't mind if it went retail or higher-price if it was longer.

I'm still pissed that I bought it at $30 on Steam and it dropped to $20 a week later.
