Trine 2 has been delayed for PS3 users in PAL territories photo

While all those in North America have been enjoying Trine 2 on the PlayStation 3, others in Europe have been waiting for Frozenbyte's platform-puzzle title to hit their respective PlayStation Store. If you fit that description, I've got some bad news for you; Atlus is having to delay Trine 2, "a short while longer."

While neither Atlus or Frozenbyte went into why exactly this has been happening -- the game should have launched alongside its North American counterpart back in late December -- they did offer this rather reassuring apology:

"We sincerely apologize for the frustration this ongoing delay has caused our European fans, as it is a frustration we (ATLUS and Frozenbyte) also share.  We assure the community that everything within our influence is being done to release Trine 2 for PAL PS3 system users as soon as possible, and we humbly ask for our fans' continued patience and understanding."

After reading that, I feel like giving Atlus a hug; they sound so sincere.

Aw, fuck this.
Time to find someone in the US willing to game-share with me.
I tried to give this game as a gift to my mother for christmas, right before the delay. I'm tired of "short delays", even though it's not their fault.

What a fantastic game. Seriously, those guys and gals sure know how to make a great action/puzzle/platformer. I loved the original Trine but was never able to finish it since it constantly crashed on my PC, and then when I was able to get it to work some crazy bugs kept ruining the experience.

I got Trine 2 on the PS3 instead, and boy was it worth it. Loved every second of it.

Trine 2 is amazing. Some of the best visuals ever in a video game.

Thought Trine 2 was great. Story was a bit better, some of the puzzles actually took a bit to think of a way to get cross them (more then then in the first), and the graphics were phenomenal (like a fairy tale come to life then having a baby w/ my little pony and then dipped in honey) but all in all still think the first was better (albeit, by a small margin. And yes, I mean small). Just felt like finding the secrets and the experience orbs mattered more in the first, and in 2 it was just a trivial thing, tacked on for no real reason. Those really are my only gripes... But really, I'd have to say it's one of the better downloadable games out there. Keep in mind too, this all said without having played the co-op on either game.

I demand a Steam sale to make up for this! I don't have a PS3, but I do have a PC, and I am OUTRAGED, GOOD SIRS!

I thought the gameplay in 2 was much better. The puzzles took some thought and character switching. The first game you could play almost entirely with the thief.

I played some local co-op in 2 with my sister and it was excellent. 3-player would be great, and pretty tricky.

Screw this, I am sick of waiting. Time to load up the torrent client and crack my PS3.

I bought Trine after seeing the review of Trine 2 and I've been checking the PlayStation Store for it ever since. Hurry the hell up!

@ Jinx 01
Good to hear. I didn't really consider the puzzles in the first game to be puzzles. And I went from start to finish, as you say, pretty much with the thief.

I'd like to get it on my ps3 just for the sake of having it on the same system as Trine, but it looks like I'll be getting it on steam after all.

If you have even a modest PC/Mac, you might just want to buy it on Steam instead anyway. It controls well enough with a 360 controller (which we used for local multiplayer), but keyboard/mouse is still better- easier to aim/grapple with the thief, and waaaaayyy better for using the mage since you can more easily "draw" objects to conjure and manipulate physics objects.

I think about getting it for PC (my first PC game since, like, ten years, or so). It comes with the first game, the soundtrack and an artbook. And it's like €17 right now.
