Honestly, how is it they can produce a $15 indie game that mind-blowingly gorgeous while Nintendo's 2D Mario games are stuck in the 90's?

Having a unique art style helps, too. Yoshi's Island was unique. Rayman is unique. NSMBU is looks really generic, hardly an improvement on Super Mario World beyond the higher resolution. Which I would rather play since it's focused on single player and depth instead of multiplayer preschooler gameplay.
I hate on Nintendo because I used to be a huge fan. I just want them to give me games with the depth of their older NES/SNES/N64 titles with up-to-date graphics. Doesn't seem like much to ask?!
It goes without saying that I wasted no time in buying the actual dlc. It's more of Trine 2, and therefore awesome.
