Tricky-inspired DLC is coming to SSX next month
During the past week or so, Electronic Arts has been slowly unveiling the first major downloadable content for SSX, piece by piece (literally). Thankfully, most of us missed out on the pre-announcement shenanigans and still get the news anyway: the "Mt. Eddie & Classic Characters Bundle Pack" is coming May 1 for $7.99. Mt. Eddie promises to deliver the "classic SSX experience" and is inspired by SSX Tricky. It's got nine drops and includes three unnamed "retro" songs, so this should be pretty darn good. What's more, the DLC contains seven characters, each with their own snowboard and multiple outfit color schemes. They're going to allow players to grab Mt. Eddie and the character line-up separately for $5.99 each; at those prices, though, you might as well just grab the whole bundle. Having long since given up on the prospect of Tricky or SSX 3 re-releasing on XBLA/PSN/Steam, I can dig this. Also, holy crap, Tricky came out in 2001. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Is it wrong that the new SSX made me bored day one? This DLC might make me finally put hours into SSX... I'm tempted to run out and get SSX now just for this DLC pack. Tricky was my favorite SSX game in the series. That said, I don't really want to support a game that uses or supports Origin in any way, shape, or form. >.> I agree with Sir Tobbii. These colorful and memorable characters simply do not have enough firearms and military jargon for my tastes. Oh, sweet. While I usually hate DLC, SSX was just amazing. I actually asked EA on Twitter when the DLC would be dropping! $8 is a bit much, though. I'd prefer something like 4 new mountains instead of a single one, but I'll probably still get this. Tricky was my favorite, and while the new one lacks the charm of the old games, it wasn't bad. This addition could finally be what stops me from trading the game in SSX has been in the recycle bin, it wont be coming back out because of some dlc, sorry E.A not this time.. wouldve been nice to have tricky ssx on the disc @ release or a week or 2 later.. to many ssx isnt a "keeper" and E.A should know that w/ these kinds of games they need to pump dlc out like the octomom, fast and steady I might have to check this out once it hits the bargain bin(as is my standard practice for EA published titles). I might have bent on that had the whole game been like this. L3ED, not at all. I was bored day one also.. Every track is the same. I was hoping for more fun tracks like Tokyo Megaplex. This DLC sounds like the type of tracks that I was hoping for... I haven't touched teh game after day 1 once I unlocked all the tracks and felt everything was the same. 5:00 PM on 06.15.2013 Legend of Zelda team considering DLC for future projectsThe Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma recognizes some of Nintendo's venerable franchises may be growing a tad stale.
