My one and only concern, Tribes Vengeance went for the higher polycount nice graphics but failed to capture the lightning in the bottle that was tribes.
If Tribes Ascend can pull off looking awesome and the sheer awesomeness that was the gameplay from Tribes 1&2 then this is going to be the best FPS of the decade.
If they are going to scrimp on the gameplay and try to make it look all purdy .... they might as well not bother.

As long as the speed and intricacy of Tribes 2 is present, then it's definitely worth playing. I'm really surprised at the high level of fidelity. The visible trail of jet packs is a bit goofy in still pictures but probably amazing in action, and ether motion blur it's new; there are definitely a lot of visual advancements.

I've played Global Agenda for a while, and the Tribes license is in good hands. If anybody can pull it off, it's Hi-Rez.
Tribes is the only game that I was even remotely god-tier at. I hope they keep the awesome gameplay and open the game to the modding community.
Mmmmm Starsiege. Where the fuck is that reboot? Hell I'd be happy with a new Mechwarrior. Can't complain too much though since 4 became free.
If that is in-game screens they are beautiful. Played Tribes way back in the day it will be good to see it again. Really looking forward to this one.
Fallen Empire: Legions branched off into a free side project after Instant Action collapsed. Unfortunately I bet it will be relegated to the obscurity of the LAST fan supported Tribes-style project, that I can't even remember the name of now.
