Treasure's N64 title Sin and Punishment confirmed for Japanese Virtual Console photo

According to Nintendo's official Japanese Virtual Console release list, Treasure's highly sought after Nintendo 64 title, Sin and Punishment, will be making its way to the service this September.

Because of cart rarity and sniveling Internet nerd buzz, this third-person action/adventure has been one of the most demanded Virtual Console releases to date. Only released in Japan and on China's iQue, the game also featured extensive English voice acting, making it a good candidate for one of the more interesting Virtual Console releases fans have seen.

Note that Sin and Punishment has only been confirmed for release in Japan. But to date, almost every (if not all) games that are released in one region have been released at all, so keep your fingers crossed this makes its way to a Virtual Console near you. But hey, if that doesn't happen, there's always the fan-made translation hack.

I can't wait for when this game finally comes to the US, so I can play it for myself and be let down after years of hype.

This is one of Treasure's best N64 games. I have the import and it rocks completely. I would love to see it reprogrammed to use the Wiimote because that would rock my face off.

I love Treasure, so I'm really hoping this gets released in some form over here. Hey, they released Battle Lode Runner, and that was Japan-only! (Although with no Japanese text...)

@Necros: Sin and Punishment had Japanese text with English voice acting. If it were released here, the only necessary change would be the text on the main menu.

No fucking way.

If this game doesn't make it to the EU VC i will be going on a rampage.

It was a fucking crime to not release this game outside of Japan the first time around.

Doing it again would be a piss take.

That would be awesome if it came out here. But the voice acting is so bad. I'd say it may even be worse than the early House of the Dead games.

Man, I just looked up some screenshots of this game...

Holy shit... things have not aged well from that generation.

It's a treasure shooter though, so who the hell cares, it's gotta be worth playing.

dude, Sin and Punishment is such an awesome game. I really wish that I would have the chance to play it on more than an emulator on my PC. I am glad that other people actually know about this awesome game too.

This seems like it would be one of the obvious Japan-only Virtual Console localizations.

I've played the game as an emulation .
Someone commented that it would be great if it was reprogrammed to use the Wii-mote . I think it would be perfect candidate for the wii-mote .
The question is can it be reprogrammed for the Wi-mote ?
And would anyone be bothered if they could ?

It is too fucking awesome. Nintendo better share with the rest of the VC markets globally. I will gladly spend points for this.
