The boys at Gamecock are finally starting to reveal more of their hand as this trailer for Crackpot Entertainment's Insecticide contains actual gameplay footage, much unlike the Mushroom Men teaser released a while back. Gamecock pledged to publish unique and innovative new games but to be perfectly frank, I am yet to hear anything from these guys that makes me think "wow, that's original." Sure, while the announced games might have a quirky story, like Insecticide's cop-drama-with-insects premise, the actual gameplay sounds far from fresh. Watching this trailer, it looks that way too.

Right now, all that Insecticide is showing for itself is a third person shooter/platformer, and not a great one at that. Granted, I am a cynical, curmudgeonly, Scrooge-like figure who is hard to please and this could look a lot better when further details and more footage are made known, but at this juncture, I am not impressed by what this trailer shows. Not at all. I'm hoping that when Gamecock gives titles the chance they'd never have otherwise, it isn't because those titles are garbage.

While it was damn near impossible to tell what was going on in the clips because of the crappy wobble - What I could see I rather liked... It looks to me like it might be pretty fast paced, with a lot of emphasis on the movement, such as dodging. It has potential to be quite fun.

I've never been that close to getting dizzy from a trailer before.

Fire your marketing apartment, and never use that editor or director again.

I saw a smidget of cutscene in there somewhere, and it almost looked like Psychonauts.

If it's in any way like Psychonauts, I'm buying it.

The game reminds me of Jet Force Gemini with more movement.
