If you missed it yesterday, the addition of bonus stages and new online modes have been announced for Super Street Fighter IV. We got a peek at a new trailer that showcases some of this hotness last night, but it was in Japanese. Now we've got an English version, so you can actually tell what's going on if you don't read moonspeak.

Take a look for a glimpse of the new car-smashing and barrel breaking bonus stages in action. There are also details on how the new tournament-friendly multiplayer modes will work, and how you can save your own replays or view those saved by top tier players in order to study using the game's new Replay Channel featue.

This is shaping up to be a more than justified re-release, with the 9-player voice chat enabled lobbies and potential for huge fun in the form of personalized home tourneys. Like I said yesterday, these new team battles and expanded multiplayer modes are now the biggest draw for me, not even taking into account the new characters and balance tweaks. And there's still even more yet to be announced. Judging by this video, SSFIV players are in for some massively good times come Spring.

Street Fighter IV was a Day One Buy, and so will this.

Whats up with the announcer's voice?

de BLOO
That announcer seem to be just a stand in.

In the SF4 Beta Capcom was showing early in development had that guy announcing too.

It'll probably change back or to another announcer all together.

Also, Ryu's Metsu Shoryuken.

Pretty much everyone having a 2nd ultra confirmed.

ALSO MIKE HAAGAR CONFIRMED FOR SSF4

I have yet to hear/see confirmation that you can save your own replays at will. This is one of the most wanted features among my friends and I. Other than that, I've got T.Hawk back and lobbies pretty much make this a must-buy.

Yeah, that stage is totally an homage to the final fight stage. Pretty rad. People are saying that it's "pretty much a confirmation of cody, guy or rolento". I just hope to god they don't put Haggar in. Dude has a fucking job do to, he's the fucking MAYOR.

Also it's pretty interesting that Ryu's "new ultra" has been mysteriously blurred out/cut completely from the English version of the video. It's only on the Japanese one.

Mike Haggar?! I thought they said no more Final Fight people! They should just add Hugo, give Zangief some competition.

They need to add Alex from SF3.

He's the main character of the third game, yet doesn't appear in the sequel at all? (yes I know the chronology is messed up but COME ON!)

But I'll definitely be buying this

FACE IT OLD MAN, YOU'RE GETTING SLOPPY!

When are you gonna get your fucking 360 fixed? We miss you on the SF4 side of Dtoid. :'{

Oh wow. Juri was already piquing my interest, but with all this I think I'm sold. Unless I'm swamped in other games or general life I see picking this up at launch. It'll be fun to get back into it. :)

The tourney mode they are talking about is like the one in the original SFIV.
My hope for returning characters: Dudley, Makoto, Alex, Ibuki, Guy, Cody.

Jamieson Price seems to be the announcer by the way(he's Iron Tager in BlazBlue).

Ahahahaha I am sooooo not buying Super Street Fighter IV. The commercial just should've said "In this version you'll be able to save replays, host tournaments and punch cars and barrels. TIGER TIGER TIGER."
LMFAO

I'm still not happy that they're doing this, I still think this all could have been a DLC bundle, and I'm still going to buy SSFIV. Online lobbies is all I needed to hear. Everything else is a bonus.

The biggest problem I have with this is two fold. I'm upset that I spent 20-something dollars on DLC for SFIV which will probably be useless in SSFIV, and I'm just going to have a worthless SFIV disc sitting on my shelf that will never get touched again (I don't trade games in, ever.) Feels like such a waste.

That said, I'll get over it, and I know I'm gonna love SSFIV. I just hope they stick with the rumored $39.99 price tag.

@santaclause they've already said that if you got the costumes they'll still pass over to ssf4. your 20bucks is still gonna be there. and capcom has already said they've got some kind of suprise if people keep their sf4 discs, so that's probably some kind of trade in deal or something.

@bloo you're such a baby. also, towel trick works for me till it explodes or burns my house down.

@santaclause You still think they could do all this in DLC? Give it a rest already. This is a shitload of new stuff. Besides, I'd rather have a disk than DLC. Especially since this looks like a 1.5gig download, if they could do it. Possibly more.

Praying for Yang and Makoto from SF3:3S.

This could never have been simple DLC. This amount of content fully warrants a disc release, and if it's a $40 SKU, then we still come out as winners.

I doubt the bonus had anything to do with a trade-in. It'll most likely have something more to do with checking the disc and your previously-earned achievements/trophies in order to unlock something cool.
