Attention all TrackMania lovers who also happen to own a DS: you're going to want to pencil in March 17 with a big ol' star on your calendar.

Atlus recently nabbed publishing rights for the North American release of TrackMania DS and confirmed that the game will cost $29.99 when it hits retail next year.

While I have a sort of love/hate relationship with my DS, the track editor (shown above) certainly appeals to my creative side and makes me want to start thinking about pulling out my dusty, mistreated handheld ... or not. It's too early to call.

Wow. That actually looked like a pretty accurate version, which I'm surprised they could pull off on DS. It's a fanfuckingtastic game on PC.

What? You guys in America don't have this yet? It came out in Europe last week.

yeah every once in a blue moon Europe gets a title before we do. Can't keep you guys down all the time, we gotta give you a little hope.

Seriously though, when it comes it will be mine, love this series on PC. And as Wedge mentioned...wow, it looks like a wonderful transition to DS was made. I mean I'm sure there won't be 100 cars on the track or anything but even just being able to play with friends will be enough for on the go.

@njsykora:
That's not surprising, given that the original game was produced in France if I'm not mistaken.

All doubts I had for this title are officially assuaged. I was thinking that this title would be a low-framerate blocky 3D mess, but it actually looks presentable. Consider me pleasantly surprised. Still, I find it odd that Atlus of all people is set to publish this. I was expecting some no-name upstart company to pick it up.
