Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

It's not every day that I get excited about a DS game, but I'm willing to make an exception for TrackMania DS, which was announced for Q4 2008 by Focus Home Interactive today.

Fans of the arcade racing series will be pleased to know that just like the game's PC counterpart, TrackMania DS will include a track editor with "hundreds of different design blocks." Yippee!

If you're unfamiliar with the sheer insanity of the TrackMania games, I suggest you go check out TrackMania Nations. It's absolutely free and comes with a killer editor that allows you to design and drive on your own tracks. At the very least, go watch some YouTube videos to see what all the fuss is about.

Well... that was... a lead up to nothing.

Game should be great though, if it's at all like the PC games.

Trackmania Nations also has free StarForce protection. I love Trackmania but the only one worth considering is the non-system-destroying Trackmania United.

Not bad.

Nintendo, hurry up and get F Zero X onto DS. With online play and a track editor, that game would be freaking awesome.

finally, a trackmania game that doesn't have system-destroying DRM!

Meh. There's a reason why I don't make my own racing tracks. I expect the developers to make them and pretty them up.
