Here's the basic Katamari storyline premise.
The King of the Cosmos got fucked up one night and broke all the stars in the sky. Being the asshole that he is, he sends his son, The Prince (the little green dude) to clean up the mess for him. The King of the Cosmos sends him to Earth and tells him, "Yo, kid. I fucked some shit up, so now you're going to have to roll shit up into a ball so we can remake the stars in the sky. Now get the fuck down there and start rolling shit up!!!!"
I'm paraphrasing, but that is the storyline in a nutshell.
To quote the King of All Cosmos from the Katamari games:
"Is katamari really that much fun? We don't quite get it."
But the challenge usually lies in doing it fast enough, creating the biggest katamari in the shortest amount of time. Like high score games, the fun lies in getting better and better scores, the more you play. Plus, for me, the weird and wacky concept is appealing. Just picking up stuff, like some sort of all-consuming monster on the rampage.
Actually the touch pad works as good the trailer entails. I've gotten a chance to try out the vita myself and I am more than pleasantly surprised at how good it is.
Oh ok I see what you mean. If I'm not mistaken the game will have touch controls so if it seems too hard to control with the analog you can just slide your fingers to control it. The vita is definitely built well and I know they are still working out the kinks in this game.
Thank you guys. That actually sounds fun. Probably pick this up on my Vita from the PSN when I finish the couple of launch titles I grab from Gamestop.
I'm sure the "difficulty" of the stages is balanced around it, though.
Looks fun. Friggin' Vita... I might have to get one at this rate.
And trust me, it's hard.
