Toribash still coming to WiiWare, still looks totally weird photo

Toribash isn't like other videogames.

It's hard to even say what genre it's a part of. As far as gameplay goes, all you can do is alter the angle and position of the body parts of a Vectorman-looking dummy. Doing so will determine the strength and type of attack the dummy will carry out once you give it the go-ahead start to moving. Attacks potentially lead to massive levels of Van Damme-age. Heads and limbs being ripped off, with a spray of red and purple paint, are totally the norm in the minimalist, violent, and bizarre world of Toribash.

You really have to see it (or play it) yourself to understand. Hit the jump to see a vid of the game's nearly finished WiiWare port in action, or download the game (for Mac of PC) right here, and then tell me; is this the kind of game that's worth buying on a home console, given that it's already free on computers?

I have no idea how people figure out how to play this.
And I'm not generally grossed out by blood, but something about this game just churns my stomach.

Ah... if only I could ever make the guy do more than just fall into the opponent while flailing in all the wrong directions.

So if the WiiWare version is a game that you can actually, y'know, play. do you think you guys will pick it up?

This takes WAY to much effort.

If this actually playable, I might play it on mute (I think you're right on the money with this one Garison), because I'm a fighting game whore and I like the animation. But only if it was 1000 Wii Points or less. Again, that really depends on the game becoming possible to wrap my head around on the WiWare release.

I really like the PC version. It was the perfect game for sitting in class and killing time. I dont think that will translate really well. But I like it overall, may consider it.

I used to play this, its not that hard really, you just need to know how muscles work and its pretty intuitive after that. But I rarely managed to do this kind of cool stuff.

I don't think I'll buy this unless it has some really neat new features.

I likely won't buy it just because it's a Wiiware game and my Wii is rarely hooked up. Looks pretty fun though.

Hard to say what genre it's a part of? C'mon Holmey Holmes... I'd expect more of you.

It's a turn based physics heavy fighting game.

There. That wasn't too hard.

I played the crap out of this on the pc a few years back. It was pretty awesome. The online multiplayer is pretty addicting, but I don't think the wii version will have that.

That looks like an actual 3D version of Ballz for the Genesis. Interesting.

Remember Stair Dismount? How about Truck Dismount? Yea, Toribash is totally ripping these games off.

I'm curious how they'll optimze the controls for Wii. I've enjoyed this game, but the play and flow feels liek it was missing something. LOTS of visual pop though

Installed, then promptly deleted. My mouse kept jumping straight to certain joints.

360 has Achievements. PS3 has Trophies. When is the Wii gonna add Ninwards?

Dunno how it will translate to the Wii , on the PC you gotta use all the shortctus you have ...

@thecleaningguy
It's not that hard ..

@rockydil
Nope , it's easier than it looks ..

One of the most confusing hardcore games ever made on the most casual system out there?

Good luck with that.

And no, it's not easier than it looks. After trying to learn it on and off for a week I gave up because all I could do was have uncontrollable spasms.
