I didn't even watch the trailer and I thought of Shank just from the still shot. Also, I only saw 2 heroes not 3 in the trailer unless I missed something. It was the woman then the guy with the eye patch.

Perhaps the villain character was the Alchemist, all corrupted and such. They did mention he'd be "blazing a trail" for the characters to follow, as well as things not going well for him.
The woman wasn't the Vanquisher from the original Torchlight, though.

The woman was the sorceress that you assisted in the first game. I'm not sure if the eyepatch guy was the destroyer or not.
This is the most overblown title I can think of. This is a Skeleton Click game, the "story" is basically reduced to villian re-emerges from the cave that was the setting to the first game, go click on shit.

@Gennadios: OK, but you can really break down most games into their mechanics and make them sound boring and pointless. If you don't like Torchlight, that's cool, it's not a cardinal sin or anything, but that doesn't mean it is totally without merit.
I'm enjoyed the first one greatly and I'm very excited for next one! I don't really mind if it takes its time coming out, though, I've over extended my gaming funds recently what with Mass Effect and Xenoblade recently and donating to Wasteland 2 and the Banner Saga. There's enough great games on the horizon that Torchlight II can take its sweet time getting it right as far as I'm concerned.

@molamolacolacake I'm actually a huge fan of Torchlight, and can't wait for the co-op in T2. Let's just say I'm not in it for the story.

This trailer shows three heroes trying to kill him yet again, after the events in Torchlight. It doesn't show off any new gameplay, and the story is not necessarily that important in a game like this, but it's still a really fun trailer. It turns out Ordrak is still a problem in Torchlight II even after he's dead. Like most fantasy villains, death is not really an issue for him.
