Standing up against something you don't believe is good for something you enjoy is FAR from self-entitled. The only jerk here is you. If you want to bitch about self-entitled gamers go look somewhere else. DRM is not a minor issue or something that should be ignored and accepted. If it doesn't bother you, fine, but don't be a prick just because you don't care about companies fucking you.
You're trolling, right? There is no way you are calling people butthurt because they have to find an unofficially and probably illegally supported crack that's probably filled with viruses and malware to play a game offline.
and some other sour grapes induced reasons like not wanting to deal with the D3 community.

I think you're offering up a false dichotomy here. Either we boycott this game or we forever accept a future of every single player game ever made being online only? That's what I'm hearing, and it doesn't make any sense.
Obviously there's games I'll accept this kind of thing from (D3 is one of them, and I think it has every reason to be this way) and there's some games I will not accept it from. I just finished The Darkness II. If that game had required me to be online to play single player, I'd have passed on it. Not every game is Diablo 3, ya know?
I just don't see any reason why I can't make these decisions on a case-by-case basis without tacitly giving my approval of Skeletor, Megatron and Cobra Commander taking over the gaming industry, ya know?
Kind of like the no-cd patch for Diablo 2? Yeah that really left my pc loaded with spyware and malware.. aha, give me a break, if you really think your pc is going to be "breached" from an un-official, offline crack then YOU are the one trolling not me, especially when it will be available on sites like gamecopyworld.com.
Biting.
So basically you're saying that it's okay to hold the single player hostage in a game simply because of the reputation of the game? The company? What specific stipulations should be met to be online only?
To wit, why shouldn't the darkness 2s single player also be locked behind always in drm like Diablo 3?
Lemme guess no spaces?
@tristix: you're stupid dumbface is WRONG. George Bush shall rape your mother while fingering your wifes bum if you buy this game. You are why we have ants damn you!
Well I mean first of all, lets establish that a game being online can possibly, occasionally, just every so often, not be a horrible life-ending thing. A game CAN benefit from it. So it becomes a simple matter of asking yourself whether or not a particular game benefits or is hindered.
Obviously Darkness 2 would be hindered. I think we can both agree on that, so that's a good example of an indefensible use of online single player.
The no CD patch for d2? Was it a patch or a crack? Those two things are different.
Also, i dont know what world you live in, but yes, people who make cracks and cd keys for games have malicious programming on them because its a popular title. Not always the case but still quite likely.
Telling people to have to jump through hoops and go thru channels that aren't the developer to make it work right isn't butthurt. Its just... stupid.
Or vice versa, how would offline d3s sp be hindered if offline the darkness 2 isn't hindered?
I get that there CAN be online interactions in a sp game like the ah, but screw it. Lemme just turn that off, I can loot and buy stuff without it.
