TorchED released: Go poke around until something breaks photo

The appropriately titled TorchED, the editor for -- yup, you guessed it -- Runic Games' Torchlight, is now up for download. At 384 MB, it'll be no time before the program is beamed to your hard drive using black cyberspace magic.

Once you have a basic understanding of TorchED, you can use it to create stuff like levels, quests, skills, dinosaurs, Brad Nicholson's pecs, toucans of the non-cereal variety, and the list goes on. To get a feel for what mods are currently being made, you can glance over this forum.

Knowing what this community is capable of achieving, I'm confident you guys already have some brilliant, weird, and downright disgusting ideas brewing.

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways. I'm not skilled in editing, so I'll make my plea to the community. Someone please make a Mr. Destructoid character if possible!

This game is awesome and goes for a wicked price. It is going to be even better with all the user content generated!

For everyone who hasn't yet, buy the game so the team can continue doing the good work, to have created an ARPG this good starting developmenet AFTER diablo III was just ANNOUNCED (several years has gon into D3 at this point) and being released just single year later is phenominal. $20 bucks is chump change and everyone needs to buy it </soapbox>

I'd be all over this game but for my lack of a half-competent PC.

Alas.

I bought this yesterday after playing the demo. It's awesome.

I've never played Diablo 2 so I hear (alot) about the Multiplayer aspect. It would be awesome, but I think the game seems fine without.

This game is so, flash-browser-game'ish.. Couldnt imagine paying for it lol. And with only 3 classes?
Good thing Titan Quest is still installed <3

Sweet game for a nice price! If it only had local (lan) play I would have bought it.

This game is like crack.
And how is this a flash-browser-game? Have you even played it? Not to mention it blows shitty Titan's Quest out of the water. Trolling: you fail.
This game was great after my friend decided to steal Borderlands from me. My loot fix is being filled. And here's hoping some totally awesome mods show up for it.

Torchlight is absolutely wonderful a true successor to the Fate series, complete with perky pet and fishing just like Fate too!

I love it I just wish there was a small multiplayer mode, nothing elaborate just something cruise with a friend or two.

@Los255

You should definitely check out Diablo 2 if you enjoy Torchlight, it still enjoys a healthy multiplayer community to this day. Though a warning: Blizzard periodically deletes online characters after about 4 months of disuse.
