Top ten selling PSN games revealed for April photo

Sony may get a lot of things wrong, but one cannot deny that the PlayStation Network has been firing on all cylinders, with some truly interesting, unique and fun titles hitting the downloadable content platform. From Flower to Magic Ball, there are all sorts of neat games, and now we know which titles have been selling the most this month. Unfortunately, the PSN's best games have given way to the worst. Why must the general public insist on enjoying puerile sh*t?

Terrific titles like Flower miss out to the absolutely awful Rag Doll Kung Fu, which takes the top spot. This is before the game was released for free, meaning that people actually bought the rotten thing. The more respectable Worms is at number two, while Wheel of Fortune, of all things, seizes number three. Flower is at number four.

There's no Pixeljunk or Echochrome, which is a shame because those titles are truly what sets PSN apart from XBLA. One would hope that PS3 fans would be more discerning, but ah well. Hit the jump for the top ten sales.

  1. Rag Doll Kung Fu
  2. Worms
  3. Wheel of Fortune
  4. Flower
  5. Mortal Kombat II
  6. Comet Crash
  7. Ratcher & Clank Future: Quest for Booty
  8. Linger in Shadows
  9. PAIN
  10. Noby Noby Boy

Rag-doll kung fu isn't a bad game. Flower, on the other hand...

Other titles I'm enjoying include Age of Booty and Burn Zombie Burn. I like the variety and pricing of most of these titles so far. Keep it coming, Sony.

"one would hope that ps3 fans would be more discerning"

Your articles are always dripping with bias, man. I will refrain from making one of many anti-xbox fanboy slams. Is that discerning enough for you?

Glad to see Noby Noby Boy rounding out the top ten. I figured it'd be downloaded by the hardcore but completely ignored by the mainstream. Did they release total sales numbers?

Mortal Kombat 2? What the hell? Am I the only one that really doesn't care that much about the series?

that goddam mortal kombat2 has been in the top ten more than any other game, how many people don't have it? but it is the best game in the series and the arcade version to boot.

i just figure all the best games get bought immediately by the masses and bask in one giant week or two of great sales and the lesser titles own the long run records. r&c saw that price drop and is seeing good sales and that a really fun game, it felt like just the right size for the money.

They gave away ragdoll for free so no wonder it's first.

How did Noby Noby Boy get last place? I thought such a twisted crazy game would surely get in the top 5.

Soo, rag doll kung fu was free for a few days right? well I downloaded it, played it a bit, then decided to delete it. Why? Because if I didn't have a game in my PS3, that would be the first thing that would pop up on the screen and it's song annoyed the hell out of me.

Flower FTW

My friend really likes Rag Doll Kung Fu, even though it's just a poor man's smash bros. What's funny is he owns Brawl, so it just doesn't make sense why he likes Rag Doll.

@Ran24
Maybe he's burned out after 10 years of Smash Brothers? That doesn't mean that Rag Doll Kung Fu will have more staying power than a few months, however.

MKII is still selling but SSFIIT HD Remix isn't even in the top 10?

The other week I got Rag Doll (NA Store FTW lol), and I found it really fun, some people find it really easy but I can't do the lightning ball. I was dissapointed that there was no online feature though.

Also, @shinryu I just bought SSF2THD :P

I also want to really buy Flower, I may buy it. All the Pixeljunk game are addictive I'm amazed they aren't up there.

Worms is also addicting, but MK2 I bought and played for a few days and got bored.

Ragdoll Kungfu is not a terrible game. The PC version was pretty bad, but the PS3 version is great.

I can understand flOwer's position. It's neat, but poor value. Short, with mediocre gameplay buoyed by atmosphere. There's an artistic aspect to it I guess, but I've already seen the "regeneration" cinematic a hundred times in Okami, and it managed to be less intrusive there. The music imparts emotions as you follow the flower line, but how many other games are there that can say their music helped evoke emotion? Why is flOwer special in this regard? It seems that the games as art people have taken this game up as part of their banner and hyped it far beyond the game's ability to produce. If people had not come into this assuming it was art, it would be railed for its simplicity, not praised.

I got RDKF for free, but have only played it a bit. Despise the fighting system, honestly. Picked up Flower about two weeks ago and played through it once. Still need to go through and see if I can't find all of the hidden green flowers and somehow get to the city without getting hurt...

It's nice to see Comet Crash up there. That is a fantastic title on the PSN and I wasn't sure if anyone knew about it.

ghets: I think you get Pain for free with one of the PS3 bundles. Or was it PSP? I don't remember.

Ratchet & Clank while very short is the best game on that list. I own more than a few of those titles and Flower is a game that I'd trade in if it were on a disc.
Pain sucks so hard it could take the paint off your house from across the street!
Noby Noby Boy is a game for stoners, you'd have to be so freaking high to enjoy it.
A giant multicolored penis you stretch out until it breaks... but I digress.

I enjoyed Rag Doll Kung Fu as well. It really wasn't that bad. The replay value is a bit off and the challenges are short... but it's still a fun week of playing.

I quite enjoyed Rag Doll Kung Fu... Sure I got it for free, but still. If I get a few buddies over, I may pluck up the balls to pay for it in europe!

There should definitely be more Pixel Junk and The Last Guy on there!

I got RDKF for free, but I really like it...I wouldn't have paid 10 bucks for it to begin with....For 5 it would have been a steal (if it had online play 10 would have been a steal).

Flower is flat out remarkable, and I'm glad I bought it..

The one thing that I hate about the PSN set up is that there are only demos for certain games. After having XBL for so long, and enjoying a fuck load of arcade games I expect to get a chance to try everything before I buy it...And if I had that chance with some of the lesser known PSN games I bet I would have far more than the 12-14 titles I have.
