Quantcast

As promised, I present to you a slew of Too Human concept art that came along with the new screenshots we received earlier.

Regarding the screenshots, you guys said things like "This is looking damned good," and "This reminds me of a that overly rendered piece of crap I just took." Fair enough -- we're always in the market for some intelligent discussion about screenshots. But what are you guys thinking about this concept art?

Too Human is rumored to be coming to the Xbox 360 next February. Place bets now.

Remember, nothing but positive comments or Dyack will start crying again.

You mean next February as in 2009, right? Because chances are that's what it'll be.

I'll admit that I'll probably seriously consider playing this even though it's taken so long to come out that it'll be picked clean by reviewers.

the first time i heard about this game is when they started bringing up that lawsuit against epic. so naturally every time i think about this game its been tarnished with the stigma that the developers don't like the way its turning out so they need to blame someone other than themselves.

new screen shots and new concept art isn't going to shake my prejudice

I don't like Too Human not because Dyacks a bitch but because in a interview with EGM he boasted about how much better Too Human's combat system was better than God ow War's... I could shit a brick of pure hate for this game just for that one article, the lawsuits don't help me like it any better.

speaking of being "Too Human", some dude came out and said that people will be marrying robots by 2050.

Regardless of any other factors, the concept art looks cool at least. I like the way they mixed Norse armor with a futuristic/cyberpunk art style.

I'm with cheeburga on this one. "want to care but can't"

There are too many promising games that aren't being delayed coming out for me to give two shits about a game who still showing concept art 3 years later

My patience is wearing thin on Alan Wake also. But im being a lil more lenient because of the games subject matter. A futuristic beat em up like too human is somthing i can go out and buy right this very moment

I just can't muster up the interest for Too Human. I've seen the videos; it looks sluggish and generic. All of this talk about "revolutionary" and "epic storyline" really only seems to mean "play as a dude fighting robots", which is of course an entirely new concept in videogames. It's going to take more than a bounty of screen shots and concept art to gain my curiosity.

On a side note, doesn't this seem a bit desperate? Hasn't there been like, a barrage of Too Human info and screen caps for the past three days? If this is Silicon Knights' attempt at drumming up interest, they really need to go back to the drawing board.

Ummmm, isn't concept art the FIRST step in making a video game?

I, for one, am really excited for this game. If not only for the Norse-themed storyline, but also for the mad amounts of customizations. Like any hack and slash RPG, I don't doubt the gameplay will be up to dedicated action game standards. However, I am willing to overlook that as the combat STILL looks like it will offer enough variety across characters to warrant multiple play throughs.

Also, for SuitcoatAvenger, I think I remember Dyack saying that they would be doing exactly what they are doing to build interest up until they release a demo some time this fall. I don't see why people are picking on them for releasing info like this. Every company does it for all of their games. If this art was for almost any other game I'm pretty sure no one would say anything. I mean, shit... Smash Bros. does it EVERY day, has been for MONTHS, and WILL be for months. Where's the hate there, huh?

I dont know about this game. Gamespot has a new hands on preview, and it appears the game has changed quite a bit. You now will choose from one of 5 character classes, with more to be added later by DLC. Also, you level up and progress your skills in a very WoW manner, so things are beginning to get interesting. I'm officially intrigued.

I stand by my crap, and against this game.

Dork, I think when it goes Gold (eventually), we'll be playing ideas, or imaginations?

@ B-Radicate:

The difference is Smash Bros. is good.

Actually no, I haven't played Too Human, but it has not clicked for me yet in the preview vids. Looks really standard.

Oh and Smash Bros. Dojo is not showing concept art. Sakurai-san is showing one piece of the actual game each weekday. They are kind of different.

@ B-Radicate: The collective hate for Too Human tends to comes from Dyak's handling of the whole situation as a figurehead.

He shows a bad video at E3 or whatever, people blog about how bad it looks, Dyak bitches like a little girl with a skinned knee. People blog more. Suddenly it's like Silicone Knights is trying to butter us up to Too Human. They know it has bad press, they know that they have an uphill battle. Suddenly it's this bombardment of information, and it all seems a bit forced to play into favor with the internet community. "Look! See! It's better, right?"

I mean, comparing this to Smash Bros. is apples and oranges. Smash Bros. is a proven franchise. It's audience is built-in, and the information release is more akin to fan service. Too Human on the other hand is a small fish in a big pond, and thanks to the blogging community and piss-poor planning on part of the company itself, is a few steps behind everybody else in the race. Now, the marketing for Too Human seems more like a corporate Oliver holding out their empty bowl and asking for more pudding.

I personally like companies puting out info on there games in fact if they did not we would be in the dark till they were released. Every screen shot and video we see are for promo purposes. So I dont see why people complain about this unless they want all reporting to be done by ninja's. Ninjas are cool though.
