Quantcast

Anybody in the Joseph "Orcist" Leray Fanclub (hi, Mom!) knows that I want Too Human to succeed. I need Silicon Knights to deliver. I yearn to have the hot geekery that is Norse mythology to fill the cavity of my being. That being said, it with great pleasure that I announce that I don't know wang about it. Fortunately for us, neither does Microsoft!

Microsoft told Next-gen.biz that Too Human "is still on track for a 2008 release, as [they] announced most recently at E3 2007." Thanks for being so specific, Microsoft!

This enormous window gives Silicon Knights and Epic Games time to kiss and make up, as the two are in the middle of suing the proverbial pants off of each other. Pantless and angry, Denis Dyack, founder of Silicon Knights, and Mark Rein, Vice-president of Epic, show no signs of stopping. Silicon Knights want to use Epic's Unreal Engine 3 any way they see fit while Epic wants any illegally-used code destroyed, which may include Too Human.

A lot can happen in a year and a half -- countries have been toppled in less time. Too Human could theorhetically be finished and fantastic, but this lawsuit and Microsoft's release-date damage control are worrying. The more I follow Too Human, the more I begin to believe three things: this game is a dead man walking, its two sequels are as good as canceled, and, even after seven months, this article is very relevant.

I want to be wrong so badly.

I love Norse Mythology too, as we've discussed before, Joseph, but also as we discussed, I think this game has had it. Even if it's released, the chances of it not being overdeveloped and a mess are slim.

I hope I am wrong. But I don't think I am. I think this game was finished long before the lawsuit crapped all over it.

Jim's probably too hyped up to sleep after seeing a story about himself on the front page. like a kid on a sugar high.

Orcist, this game has had it, we all know it. I knew it back in it's Gamecube days, it's one of those vanity projects, and they always, always go wrong.

Silicon Knights person 1 - "What would be our dream game if budget, deadlines and limitations didn't exist?"

Silicon Knights person 2 - " Too Human."

Reality - "Unfortunatley guys, budgets, deadlines and limitations do exist."

i think its time they just scrap "too human" and start working on eternal darkness 2. i really think thats what they should do. if silicon knights did that, i'd forgive them for this unreal engine douchebaggery they're pulling.

I also want this game to succeed...if it ever sees the light of day, that is. It's been in development just as long as Duke Nukem Forever and its history is just as troubled. Half of me wants it to turn out well (because god damn, that demo at last year's E3 was the most disappointing thing I played there) and the other half says "Fuck you SK, just scrap the Too Human trilogy once and for all and just make Eternal Darkness 2, something everyone already knows would be a great idea."

After E3 '06, I think, or was it '05? Anyway I thought this game looked like crap. But after some recent showings, this game looks a lot better. The whole mythology story really interest me, plus with a sci-fi twist and great hand to hand combat, I think this will be a game to watch for when it comes out.

Isn't this the game that originally started development on the PS1?

Even if this game makes it out, it's going to be cutting it really close if they want to get all three parts out for the 360. The system will already be half-way through it's life cycle by then.

This game looks like trash anyway. Well, the graphics look nice, but the gameplay looks like trash.

Yeah, at one point I was pumped about this. Even after last years E3 drama. I'm not too stoked about it anymore, the latest trailer to hit the web was pretty dreadful and drawn out. I hope it turns out great though, who wouldn't want that? But I have a feeling that no matter how good it is it'll sell moderately at best. Hopefully they can shack that though, this thing has very little no positive buzz around it. Prove me wrong Dyack!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

Put this game out of its misery. I was excited too, but...
