Too Human is not dead yet: Release date and demo plans still hanging in there photo
     Silicon Knights

When it's not too busy filing lawsuits, Silicon Knights sometimes makes games. One such game is Too Human, a title that has seen its development marred by bad first impressions, whining, controversy and legal antics. Although many wouldn't be blamed for assuming SK would just snap the game's neck quietly and flush it down the toilet, the man in charge, Denis Dyack, has confirmed that a 2008 release is planned to still go ahead and that a demo will be made available after the official release date is set in stone. This goes hand in hand with Microsoft also stating a 2008 release was still going to happen. I'm glad some people are confident.

Talking on the TooHuman.net forums, Dyack remained assured that this was merely darkness before dawn:

It is always darkest before the dawn.

Too Human
will be out in 2008. A firm date with tons of new info is coming soon. This will be followed up with a playable demo. The demo will speak for itself.

Hang in there.

Denis

I still have a tiny sliver of hope for Too Human, but I must admit that the hope is wearing just a might bit thin. We can but sit tight though, those few of us who still really care about the game, and hope that when this demo "speaks for itself," it doesn't say, "I'm a problematic, over-developed piece of wank."

I imagine that in Dyack's mind, canceling the game would be letting that bad E3 showing win.

And by "bad E3 showing" you mean "terrorists," right?

I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only one keeping the faith.

I can't see this game turning out to be good technologically. Because they built a new engine specifically for it only after giving up on UE3. Who knows though, it may turn out to be better than most of the UE3 games.

Am I allowed to sue Epic because I do not like the bulky huge armor seen in all their games?

I really hope they manage to do a 360 and come out with a kick ass title. The story sounds interesting as well as the game play...But can they do it?!?!

How is it possible to be "Too Human?" What is the definition of Human as an adjective. Couldn't they have just called this "Too Alien?" Maybe that'll be the sequel, followed by "Too Monkey" and "Too Giraffe." No wait, the sequel can be called "2 Human!" Damn, I'm so awesome I can't stand it.

Wake me up when they're making a sequel to Eternal Darkness.

@Eschatos: The storyline for the game basically takes and puts a twist on Norse mythology. The character you play as is one of the 'gods'. These 'gods' distinguish themselves from their human followers using cybernetic implants and other technology so that they are superior to humans in every way.

The character you play as has put off installing these implants in himself for some reason and so is viewed by his fellow 'gods' as being 'Too Human'.

Get it?

Ofcourse eventually as you progress through the game you can install various implants if you want to make yourself stronger, more accurate etc.

Unless this proves to be the greatest game of all time, I say we rally the D'toid community together, and burn their headquarters down.

Still, 2 Human has to be the name of the sequel, or someone will die.
