Too Human haters 'don't get it' according to Dyack photo

With Too Human's release date fast approaching, it seems that Denis Dyack's mouth is running into overdrive. According to Silicon Knights' chief demagogue, people who dislike Too Human only do so because the game is far too innovative and amazing for their tiny brains to comprehend.

"What we're also seeing is for the people who don't like it, generally just don't get it." explains Dyack, kindly telling me why I hated the demo. "And it's because we've created something so innovative and different. It's ironic, it just shows that human nature of if you don't understand something, you immediately attack it. It's pretty interesting in that regard."

That HAS to be the reason, Denis. We are just too stupid to comprehend the greatness that is Too Human, and if we don't like it, it's because we fear the terrifyingly brilliant changes that Too Human has made to the action genre -- such innovation as loot drops, character classes, leveling up and bad camera angles. No game has EVER featured such inventive magnificence before. You're turning this industry on its head, Dyack!

Color me a convert, and a man now happily willing to bow before Denis Dyack's almighty lecturn. I just had no idea Too Human was so innovative that the human mind is yet to evolve to a point where it can appreciate such complexity. Also, nobody understood the innovation that was Lair, either.

"innovative and amazing"

Is he spewing words without knowing the definitions or is he really that off the mark?

Can I just say that his name is spelled Penis, with a 'd?' Maybe because his parents told themselves they'd raise him up to be a dick? I dunno...

Also, the controls ruined the game. End of story. I might know more about the game through the demo, but the controls were trying too hard to be different that they sucked. They sucked Denis... no, scratch that, Penis. Yeah, I get those two mixed up...

Well dennys can't go on being honest n say:

"Well guys you know what, I will stop lying and just straight out say it. The game sucks, don't waste your money, its been a wasteful 3 years of my life so don't buy it, I will just get fired and move to a hobo home somewhere in LA. Thanks for all your non-support"

So yea, you made your shitty product, you gotta sell it somehow. yes, lying is a key to it.

Bah, I miss Jack Thompson. At least THERE was someone who was truly a dick. I mean, I hated the Too Human demo too, and Dyack does seem to talk a lot of shit, but at least he's making games. He's on "our" side. This current feud Jim's got doesn't have the same venom to it. It kinda feels like the next Batman film will feel like without the Joker. Riddler? No thanks.

Haha, this game is getting mediocre reviews everywhere and they all point out ridiculously basic flaws in the game. For example, I've seen it mentioned that cut scenes don't play in co-op mode, and that randomly named monsters can have a different name for each player. What the FUCK?

Other things turn me off like mention of how the story is poorly told and you need some prior knowledge of Norse mythology to understand it properly. Also on the subject of story, I think Gamespot said it took about 10 hours to complete and was anti-climactic with little to no drama. Maybe Dennis Dickfat should have given Too Human a self-contained story instead of splitting it into three under developed parts and stuffing them with useless shit so he could tout it as 80 hours of gameplay or whatever horseshit he was spewing at that moment in time.

I'll be approaching this game like a good old Diablo or a sidescrolling brawler. Non stop fighting! Also i'll be playing co-op the whole thing so it's gonna be pretty badass.

You know what? I'd actually like to debate Denis on his own argument.

Denis- if your game is so innovative and so different that an overwhelming population of your audience finds it mediocre at best, then you've failed at making a video game. You may -however- have made a brilliant, multi-million dollar budget art piece. But the point of making a video game is not to challenge us to the point that we despise you (or more accurately, your game) for it.

So I'll concede that I don't like Too Human because I don't understand it if, and ONLY IF, you'll admit that you don't understand the video game industry.

So basically, Denis is saying we're all dumb fucks

Yeah, nice way to alienate your target market.

The irony is that one of the reasons I didn't like the demo was because it wasn't innovative at all. It's everything we've seen before. Loot dropping = WOW, levelling up = every RPG under the sun, character classes = every RPG under the sun

You get the idea.

I feel sorry for the Silicon Knights PR team with Dyack just going off on a rant all the time. Poor bastards

I really tried hard to defend what SK was doing with this game, but I think this officially seals the game's fate. Dyack and his team were just plain WRONG. The game cannot be good if he needs to come up with such stupid dribble as this.

Sorry, Denis. No sale for me. Mercs 2 here I come!

I smell Time Cube follower, those people like saying to everyone that they are stupid and evil because we deny Nature's Harmonic 4 simultaneous 24 hour days within a single rotation of Earth.

Is it possible that Too Human has Cubic Nature?

It's getting to the point where you can tell a games quality by how little the makers talks about it. Good games speak for themselves. When people like this start spewing offensive nonsense you know you have a stinker.

Right... because coming out with Diablo a decade after the fact is 'innovative'.

At its core it's a decent dungeon crawler that's doing some pretty cool stuff.

However, using the right analog stick for combat instead of camera was its undoing. They tried something "different" and it backfired. Should have been caught in playtesting sessions as completely unusable, but I'm guessing DD didn't listen.

I'd planned to get it, seemed like some very mindless hack and slash. Point at enemy, enemy dies, loot and continue. But this Dyack guys atittude just pisses me off.

I've known two people like this guy, and it always annoyed the ever loving hell out of me.

There is no way I'm going to buy this.

How did this Jim/Dyack feud start again? All I see is acid flavored hate spewed from Jim's keyboard like Dyack murdered his child, raped his mother, and shit in the iced tea when he was done. Dennis Dyack runs his mouth, but it seems like everyone is personally insulted by it. Calm down.

I admit that Dennis really should put a cork in it, but if you spent 10 years putting your heart and soul into a project, won't you defend it too?

Besides, I like the game. I actually do think its innovative: the storyline is interesting, the cybernetic spin on the old Norse myth is clever and the whole game is just pretty to look at.

I like how the combat controls work, the loot drop makes the game addictive and finally I love watching the Valkyries come to retrieve my dead ass, because they also sucker punch any enemies near me with their wings. Classic move.

Everyone is going to see this game differently. GamePro gave it a 4 out of 5 and IGN gave it 75 out of 100. Those aren't bad scores.

The controls aren't really innovative either...Death By Degrees had a similar fight system and in a lot of ways is more fun (and the moves have more depth).
