Wow ... this is just getting sad.
Tony Hawk is now so desperate for people to play his game that he has whored out his very friendship for the purpose of selling a few more copies of Tony Hawk: Ride. He has made a pact with any would-be Ride owners out there -- play his awful skateboard game, and he'll be your friend on Xbox Live.
Hawk was playing the game on Xbox Live last night and Tweeted his Gamertag (tonyinegypt), promising friend adds to anybody who joined him. A surely irresistable offer that makes you want to rush out and buy a plastic skateboard right now, yeah?
Face it guys ... the bottom is falling out of this silly plastic peripheral thing, and not a moment too soon.

True enough, but I can't help but feel bad for the guy. I doubt he knows much about the way reviewing works since he's a skater so I can understand why he would think the review score is already set like he did. He does have a reason to be depressed and angry though, his game he just put plenty of time into flopped. Its only natural the guy tries to put the blame on something. Kind of like how people blame a game for sucking because they just got killed. Kind of.
If he had skipped that part and gone directly to offering Xbox friendship to total strangers, I'd be more inclined to feel bad for the guy.

on that note, if he just stuck with the original style of the THPS series and the first of that open world skating game (I don't remember the name of it...) he'd be fine. I mean..obviously improve on it but we didn't need this type of improvement.
in the end though I don't think he cares. He's getting money either way.
Clearly because he's so bullheaded about how poorly the game has performed that he's clearly living in denial.
